I do not have shared data, but somehow I keep getting this one gigabyte maximum exceeded.

All of a sudden, I have this one gigabyte of shared data on my account. I don’t share data with anyone. I’m the only person on my Bell account and I keep getting these alerts that I’m about to go over my data and then I need to purchase more.

Good Day.

I would suggest that you check out the following & if none of this applies to your situation, I would then contact Bell Customer Service. These texts may not have originated from Bell. Do not reply to these texts until you confirm Bell has sent them to you.

Bell does send a variety of text message notifications when you reach certain thresholds of data usage and data usage charges. The information below outline types of notifications that you may receive.

Notifications are sent when you reach 95% of the monthly data usage included in your plan, and when you reach $50, $300 and $500 in additional data usage charges.

On shared plans, data usage is calculated from all users in the plan, and all users will receive notifications.

You mentioned that you are receiving data notifications & that you do not share data with anyone else on your account.

Can you please provide us with your mobility plan information?

Is this a monthly or prepaid plan?

Do you have a shared plan? (You can subscribe to a shared plan without having any other users in the shared group.)

Does your plan include data? If so, is there a maximum amount of data included in your plan?

Have you reviewed your Bell Mobility agreement terms & conditions? This document is stored in MyBell & includes all of your plan information.

You can track your data usage, in MyBell and the MyBell app. To check your mobile usage and manage your data options, visit: bell.ca/mobilityusage

Data usage thresholds and text message notifications

Should have any further questions, please contact Bell Customer Service: 1 800 667-0123 or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.

Take care.
