hello just wondering if any one is familiar with these numbers 647434****, 514310**** and 1800509****, they called us to let us know that due to being a loyal bell customer that we get discount or something is this legit or scammer?

Young gentlemen with heavy Indian accent called; with Bell cell phone and data promotion for $40 a month...

To goo to be true.

I asked for the email to be sent to me and the email address is: bell@*****************.com

This is a scam, correct?

Yes, this would be a scam attempt. All official emails from Bell would come from "@bell.ca" email addresses.

We'd strongly recommend flagging the email as scam in your email client of choice and deleting it afterwards.

It is always better to play it safe when receiving a call. Never share any personal information with any caller that you do not know! Bell will never ask you for your personal information when contacting you.

Phone numbers can be spoofed by fraudsters these days.

It is far better to be safe than sorry!

Hi Jon. I got a call on my mobile from a company called Quantrics, on behalf of Bell. He knew about all our Bell services. Offered a promotion for Upgraded internet speed.did not ask for any information.

Does Bell work with Quantrics?

I too got a call from a person who was “Bell Mobility” offering a 40 percent loyalty discount on my bill. He asked for my email such to send me a link. His call number was 403-XXX-XXXX. Of course I frustrated him when I kept on asking him to repeat himself, indicating that his accent was difficult to understand. Told him I’d call him back and of course this line responded that it was too busy….

So Bell, you did not respond directly regarding the discount….Thanks

Consumers are never obligated to respond to any phone solicitation, no matter who is calling. Right now, for example, I am receiving multiple phone calls from a provider (not Bell) wanting me to switch to them and upgrade my phone. Which I have no intention of doing. My phone is new, bought through another channel than from my provider. My own general response is in several ways. My phone is on vibrate so calls are less intrusive; some numbers are blocked by my phone and I don’t answer unknown numbers who call. Caveat emptier. Buyer beware. And if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Bell Mobility scam calls

I have been receiving calls from numbers that look similar to my phone number. The person states they are from Bell Mobility and offering me a deal, I know they are not. I have given the numbers to a Bell representative and was told there is not much more they can do. As of today I am still receiving, so I continue to block the numbers. I have tried calling back and guess what the number is not in service.

I got a call from a gentleman purportedly from Bell telling me about some promo i was qualified for and that he would send me an e-mail after getting the address from me. He eventually sent the code from noreply@bell.ca requesting verification code while we were still talking over the phone, but i declined as it seemed suspicious.

Can anyone confirm if they are genuine or not? and if it is okay to call out these number to the gentleman over the phone.

I tried calling Bell offices but could not really get any help.

Highly unlikely this is a legit e-mail, and now they have your e-mail address.

I mean think about it: if he's talking to you over the phone, why would he need to send you a verification code by e-mail to verify what?

You have provided me with very little information. Is this a SCAM? Could be!

If you provided an email address to Bell when you enrolled & it is correct, you should be able to view it in MyBell. If this message came from Bell, "why would they ask you to verify the email message that you just received if they already have it in your profile?" Did they explain to you the purpose & how you were suppose to validate this or did they provide you with a link to select?

Treat it as a Scam! Fraudsters can use any email adress they want to. If in doubt call Bell directly.

Never give out any of your personal inforamtion to anyone you do not know or trust.
Do not reply to unknown emails, messages, etc.
Do not open web links or attachments in supicious messages.
Next time "Hang up!"

Received a phone call from a Scammer claiming to offer Bell promotions. 705-40*-*** is the number that called me. Asked who they would like to speak to, and she had no clue to who she called.

Hello… I’m just a customer but wanted to say it’s still happening. They are spoofing real numbers. Seems they always use the same area code that your number's in. I’ve tried a few times to call the number and let the real owner of the number to let them know. Just got a call and the person didn’t seem to care 🤷‍♂️. Don’t know what more one can do? Look up Jim Browning on YouTube. He, and a huge group of caring people, exposes phone, email scams. He even worked with CBC. Look him up.

There is an old saying that says, "If it sounds too good to be true, it's not true." In this case, it's not true. It's not legitimate.

The calls are from criminals looking for you to give them your Bell account details, credit card number and banking information in order to commit a crime by ordering a new phone, having it delivered to them and then sticking you with the bill or trying to use your banking and credit card information to gain access to your accounts.

Just hang up. Don't give the caller any information. Nothing. Just say, "I'm not interested" if you say anything at all. The criminal will quickly move on and you won't be victimized by them.
