What is this?
I got an email on Feb 6th saying my bills due.

The invoice says it's due by Feb16?

10 days to pay my bill? Now I'm late. Hope I don't get charged interest.

What the heck? Aren't most bills due like 30 days after you receive them? Very silly you send an invoice and want the money in 10 days.

Please fix.

Please check your bill once again. What was your billing date? Bell issues your bill each & every month with the same billing date. This date does not change from month to month. If you log into MyBell and check your billing history, you will notice that the billing date is the same each & every month. Your bill is always due 30 days after this date!

How you pay your bill & when you pay your bill are factors that you must consider. Bell processes all payments upon receipt. There are any number of ways & methods that you can choose in paying you bill. Some methods of payment take 2-5 days to process. Other methods can take upwards of 15 days or more. It is your choice in terms of method of payment.

Most financial institutions do not process payments the same day. They are processed next day at best. They are only processed during regular business hours & business days of the week.

Once your financial institution has processed your online payment, credit card transaction, personal cheque, in person teller payment, etc.; the funds are transferred to the payee. In this case it can be Bell or any other payee that you have authorized them to pay on your behalf.

If you have requested a monthly email notification from Bell, it will be prepared & sent out well in advance of your due date. It is automatically forwarded when the bill is issued! It is sent to the email address that you have requested it to be sent to that is on file.

When you read your billing notification email, & how you pay your bill, are not within Bell's control. That is entirely within your circle of influence.

Your billing date will never change. Your bill is always due for payment 30 days after the billing date. This a constant & will also never change.

Hopefully this explanation has been of assistance in answering your billing & payment timing question.

Let me know if there is something more I can do to assist you.

Thank you contacting the Bell Community Forum.

Take care.

Hi, I work on the old fashioned way of paying bills. I issue cheques. Can Bell Mobility please post Bill Statements earlier that the the 10th of the Month and expect payment by the 16th of the month? Posting on a Sunday and expect Canada Post to deliver by the following Saturday does not always happen. Why can't the be Bill Statement be ready so we get at least 10 working days notice. I look on line and it is only Bell Mobility that is slow in posting Statements. All other divisions of Bell post statements early and I have at least 10 working days to pay. I like paying on time but Bell Mobility makes it difficult to do so.

Thank you for your question. I agree, the timing is not always the best. I see my own One Bill has a billing date early in the month, takes 10 business days to come out and then has a payment date from six to ten business days ahead of the day it comes out.

If you have a plan with a set monthly fee, you could pay a month in advance and then top up your account. You could set up automatic payment or use your financial institution's electronic banking services or secure app, which usually take three business days to process. Unfortunately, the Community Forum has no input into Billing and Account matters.

I've noticed, while my Bell One Bill bill date always stays consistent as the 10th of each month, the bill due date fluctuates every month. I contacted Bell via chat to enquire. Here is the response I received "We certify that each month you receive a consistent billing date and given a due date to settle your balance. In case you are incapable of paying your account by the specified due date, you have until the subsequent bill date to guarantee that your payment is recorded and prevent incurring late fines." Upon further prompting, I received this: "If you are unable to make payment on the said due date posted on your bill, you still have until the next bill date to ensure your payment is posted and avoid late fees. That creates a 30 -day posting timeline to avoid late fees." On the back of my Bell bill in tiny font there is a "Late payment charge" note that states a late payment charge of 3% will apply from the bill date if we have not received your payment before your next bill date". On the front it notes the due date is when they need to receive it so that it is reflected on your next bill. In my case, that's 16 days to allow processing of payment in order for it to show up as paid on the next bill. It would be helpful if the note about late payment fees were put on the first page right under the due date, so all information is together and transparent, and maybe both notes should be in larger font so they are obvious.

Bill payment due dates can not be changed in this Community Forum.

Can they be changed?
That would depend on the type of services you have with Bell.

My bill date was March 3rd and therefore I should have 30 days to pay that as you say. The bill does say "please pay by March 22" which is far less than 30 days I needed to pay on the 23rd and when I went to do so it said my bill was overdue. The 30 days you mention seems to be inaccurate. It does say that on other areas of the bell website though, but that compared to my experience in paying mine 20 days after the bill date and being told it is overdue would seem to contradict that

Geoffrey, I agree it sounds confusing, because I didn't get it either, but the 30 days applies to not being charged interest. The due date is the date Bell sets for you to make payment so that it is reflected on your next bill. If you don't pay it by that due date, it may say it's overdue, but you can still make your payment after this due date without incurring any interest as long as it's paid by the 30 days. You just won't see that payment on your next bill, it will be on the bill after that. Hope that helps.

This is a Community peer-to-peer forum. As such we do not have access to your account or billing information.

I thought I would share the following information with you. Hopefully it will be of assistance to you in answering your question.

Bell issues your bill each & every month with the same billing date. This date does not change from month to month. If you log into MyBell and check your billing history, you will notice that the billing date is the same each & every month. Your bill is always due 30 days after this date!

A missed payment is a missed payment. Whether it is 1 day, 10 days, 30 days, etc.

If Bell does not receive your payment within 30 days of your Billing date, you are subject to late payment charges, etc. This can also affect your security or safety deposit & credit rating.

In some cases, because of your credit rating or usage charges, Bell may require a refundable security (or safety) deposit. This may happen at any time during the term of your service agreement. They will give you the reason why they are asking for a deposit. When the conditions justifying the security deposit no longer apply (typically when you make six monthly bill payments in a row, in full and on time), they will apply the security deposit and any earned interest against any outstanding amount owing, then refund you the balance of the deposit, if any, within 30 days.

How you pay your bill & when you pay your bill is entirely up to you!

I will leave this with you to think about.

Thank you for posting your question.

Take care.

Good Day & thank you for contacting the Bell Community Forum.

That is correct! Billing dates & due dates do not change. Your billing date is the same each and every month. Your due date will always be the same. How you pay & when you pay your bill is within your control. It is just as important that you recognize & expect to receive it regularly with the same billing date each & every month.

Your bill will always be due 30 days before your due date. Your due date will always be 30 days after your billing date.

Am I missing something?

Please log in to your MyBell account from any web browser and verify that your current bill is there.

If it is not there & you feel there is a billing issue, then I can only suggest that you contact Bell Customer Service.

This is a peer-to-peer community forum. As such, we do not access to your account or billing records.

Thank you for posting your concern.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

The date on your Visa statement may not necessarily match the date on MyBell. The date on your Visa statement is the transaction date of the credit card company.

Bell issues your bill each & every month with the same billing date. This date does not change from month to month. If you log into MyBell and check your billing history, you will notice that the billing date is the same each & every month. Your bill is always due 30 days after this date!

Your account is credited when Bell receives the funds from your financial institution. This time line can vary from 1 - 18 days. Although your account may be credited immediately at your financial institution, or even any number of days afterwards, this also depends on your method of payment & when it is paid.

The MyBell site updates bill payments daily after they are received from the bank. This time can vary from 1-4 business days after the payment date. This time frame can be longer depending on the time of day the payment is made with the financial institution, weekends, holidays, & if there any system outages. When Bell receives these funds, your account is credited & it is posted immediately on MyBell.

The chart I have included in this link is only a reference point for you to use. It is intended to allow you sufficient time to pay your bill by the due date.

https://support.bell.ca/billing-and-accounts/billing/how_

Hopefully this has been of assistance in aswering your question.

Take care.

Bill due date - How long do I have to pay my bill?

Why does it say that my bill is due on the 15th of the month and say it’s overdue after the 15th but then once paid it said it was due on the 29th of the month? When is my bill due the 15th or the 29th? I’ve also had conversations with Bell associates saying oh don’t worry it’s not due on the 15th or the 13th or whatever it’s due on the later date but then I get these notices that my bill is overdue. I’ve never gotten a clear explanation for this and I was wondering what is the proper date that I have to pay my bill by?

Good day.

Bell must receive your processed payment within 30 days after your due date. How you pay it & & when you pay it are fators that you must consider when paying your bill!

Putting it bluntly & in as plain and simple terms that I can possibly provide, your account is overdue if your bill payment has not been received & credited to your account within 30 days after the billing date on your bill.

This is you due date.

Bill due date - How long do I have to pay my bill?

Hello,

I joined Bell on July 15th this year. I received my first Bill on the 17th, paid it via the MyBell app and received confirmation via email on the 20th. Today (August 18th) I made my second payment and received confirmation via email.

However, on the app from which I paid, it shows that my billing date is/was July 17th and the payment due date is July 31st. My billing history confirms that that payment was made. I called the Bell Mobile Support number and was fortunately assured that I have no outstanding payments, that my payments have all been received and that it may be an error with the app. Also worth noting is that my billing date was supposed to be due August 17th but all through the day the app showed I owed nothing. Only today did it provide my amount due. I logged in to the website though and it displays the same error. It is as though the app or at least my account is stuck in July, so to speak. Additionally, to hopefully avoid this kind of problem in the future, I decided after this to set up automatic payments. I recieved confirmation that this was set up via email. However, the app displays that this will begin on July 31, 2024. The app also shows "Your bill is paid" while simultaneously displaying, when I click on that, that my amount due, although now it is a negative digit.

TL;DR I am extremely confused with my billing time and the MyBell app and any possible explanations for this or remedies would be helpful. Thank you

Re: Billing date unclear in MyBell

Hi there, @CallMeG. Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.

Your confusion is understandable. Have you received your August bill as of yet? Most likely what you're experiencing is a common billing delay - bills are not issued to Bell users immediately on their billing date, in your case the 17th each month. In most cases, there's a delay of a few business days before the bill is finalized and and visible to you as the user in MyBell. We have a thread here with other users who haven't received their bill with more details.

As for the negative digit, this means you currently have a negative balance, or a credit. This will be automatically applied to your next bill. Check out this post for CR on bill for details. 🙂

Let us know if you had any further questions, or if were still in need of assistance.

At 16h42 today (September 12) I received notice that my September 4 Bell bill was available. I had been checking in my account during the past week and as of this morning neither the bill nor the bill amount was available.

The bill says the due date is September 19.

My question is this: If the due date for a bill is going to be 15 days after the date of the bill, should the bill not be available a little sooner than eight days after the bill date?

If this was a one-off, it would not be worth asking. But this seems to be the pattern of service from Bell's billing department recently.

Re: Bell Billing Department Slow Delivering The Bills

Thank you for your question. I have the same experience. What I have discovered is that if you have multiple Bell services under One Bill, the final bill is not sent out until the last bill date is received. This can vary for up to 14 days in my case. However, the deadline for payment is dated from the day of the first bill. I have found it very helpful to receive e-mail notification from Bell when my bill is ready, so I can pay it promptly. You can also switch to direct withdrawal from your bank account, if that is your wish.
