I am wondering why a company so big has a bad business practice of charging people when a bill is paid prior to the due date? I do have authorized debit payments come out of my account monthly, and I paid the bill prior (10days) to the account online, checked and showed a zero amount owing….why was money still withdrawn from my account online a 0(zero) balance ?

If you made a manual payment while enrolled in pre-authorized payments, Bell's billing system will still process the automatic payment, resulting in a double payment.

If you are already signed up for pre-authorized debit payments & you choose to make a manual payment for whatever reason, and you overpay, your account will be credited & any overpayment will be applied to your next monthly bill.

Do not adjust your pre-authorized payment!

"Both enrolling and removing the pre-authorization permission has a delay of one billing cycle before coming into effect." Bell processes your payment upon receipt. Bell does not process the payment in advance.

One full bill cycle must pass before the automatic withdrawal will begin. For this reason, its recommended to always monitor your invoice and account, and if needed ensure payments are being made to avoid any past due balances or late fees.

This is the second time that Bell has taken money from my bank account when there was an existing credit on my account that covered the bill.

Previously I had made a lump sum payment covering 4 months worth of payments and never had an issue.

Now I'll get insufficient fee from my bank and most likely a charge from Bell because of a returned payment. What is the issue??

I just cancelled pre-authorized and forfeited the $10 monthly credit because I'm tired of dealing with this.

If you made a manual payment while enrolled in pre-authorized payments, Bell's billing system will still process the automatic payment, resulting in a double payment.

I have never understood why anyone would give any company access to their bank account to withdraw funds.

I clearly told customer service i wll pay manually they enabled auto pay,I payed the same bill twice,,second this happen,,,,,now it will take 14 day for a refusal,,,,

I have the same issue i never signed up for preauthorization,,i paid the fee, few days later bell took payment,,..this happened twice now.....the system is a scam.....BELL TOLD ME THEY WILL SEND A CHECK,,,outdated company still using CHECKS in the mail...very old fashion,,full lies

As l mentioned in my earlier reply, Bell would have credited your account This credit would have been applied to your next monthly bill. There would not of been a need for you to wait for a cheque to be sent to your mailing address

I didnt NOT SIGN UP for Auto,,bell took the payment WITHOUT MY APPROVAL<<telling me a credit will be applied,i clearly said i dont want a credit for a bill thats paid manaully,,,BELL TOOK PAYMENT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION,,hello knock on wood,,the bill was payed manually
