I reset the modem and used a password with more common characters and so far it appears to be working.

Hi,

Is anyone having issues with devices that can only run on 2.4Ghz (such as IoT or cameras) not being able to stay connected to the 2.4ghz network? Looking at the log, I get the following error "A device failed to connect to SSID because it provided incorrect login information", even though I haven't changed any of the login information. This error seems to occur on all 2.4Ghz connected devices to the point I only have devices running on the 5Ghz. It only started when I logged in the hub (192.168.2.1). Now, nothing seems to be able to connect to the 2.4Ghz network including devices that can run on both networks. I tried splitting the network by their frequency but no dice. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi @skyflakes. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Community. 🙂

Interesting question, the device you are using to split the 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz networks, is that device on 2.4Ghz or on 5Ghz?

If not, you will need to make sure that the device you are using to pair the IoT device is connected to 2.4Ghz as well.

Tagging in @JD & @ZaneP to see if they have anything to add.

I have the same issue of trying to connect my Traeger Smoker that only connects using 2.4 GHz network. A complication with turning off the "Whole Home Wi-fi" option is that any pods you may be using to boost wifi signal will disconnect.

Once in advanced settings and see the 2.4 & 5.0 networks, and the necessary devices have connected thru the 2.4 network, can the "Whole Home WI-FI" button be turned back on and still maintain the 2.4 connections?

Yes you can, and you can also separate them into a 2.4 and a 5 Ghz SSID.

There should be a single SSID for both.

If you wish to split them up and have 2 different SSID's, see this article: Splitting-SSID-for-IOT-device-configuration
