Bell technicians installed a Giga Hub (FAST 5689E) modem in my home earlier today and I can confirm that it still only supports a maximum of 60 characters for the Wi-Fi network password. It has been over one year since we were informed above that this issue was flagged to a team to work on a resolution. Could you please provide an update?

(Hopefully this report will get filed as a defect in gigahub firmware...)

My new gigahub will accept a 63-character wifi password, but won't allow clients to connect to it using that password. My previous HH4k worked perfectly fine in this respect.

I did confirm the gigahub accepted the password correctly via email notification, and both hub and wifi client both use pasted values so I know the data entry is correct.

(I've since been forced to use a shorter password. I don't know at what password length the gigahub stops accepting connections; the process to test this is tedious and always involves a factory reset to regain access to the hub.)

Just wanted to post a quick update to let you know that we've flagged this to the right team, and they are working on a resolution. We will post new information as it becomes available.

In the meantime, you should be able to use a 60 character password without issue.

Interesting. I found this because I've been using a 63 character password on my HH4k for years and clients can no longer connect using that password as of last week. It seems like rather than fix the issue on the Giga Hub they've pushed a new firmware update to the HH4k that's added the same restriction. I've noticed that it just truncates the last 3 characters so I don't need to change the password per se on the modem, but need to remove those characters from the client to connect. The issue is that I have numerous smart devices using the original 63 character password and it's going to be a major pain to switch those to a new or truncated password.

There has been no recent change in the Giga Hub firmware beyond version 2.13. Bell does not comment on future plans or updates, at least in my experience over the last thirty years as a Bell Internet client.

They did something to my gigahub 2.0 last night and disconnected all of my wifi devices. I am using a 63 character password for the longest time and now only a 60 character password is usable. I've verified that even a 61 character password would not allow a client to connect. Somehow bad firmware got pushed to my bell gigahub 2.0
