Thanks for the guidance. I have followed your instructions step-by-step and made sure that 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz are all turned ON but still am not able to utilize the WPA3 encryption level for the devices in my home network. I have checked the My devices section on my Giga Hub modem/router website and it’s showing that all my devices are connected to either 5 or 2.4 GHz but none is getting connected to 6 GHz and most of my devices are the latest (newly bought) ones. This might be the reason(since 6 GHz is not utilized/connected to devices) that WPA3 security encryption is not getting picked up by devices in my home network.
I also tried to turn off 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and keep turned on 6 GHz on Giga Hub’s modem/router website and tried to connect my devices to home WiFi but after doing this my entire home WiFi itself has become invisible (so basically no WiFi was detected).

I am very positive that there must be an easy or straight forward procedure to use WPA3 encryption with my latest upgraded Giga Hub modem, any insights/suggestions please in this context.

Thanks and Best regards

I have a Giga hub 5689E and was able to access the home page of the modem but it doesn't have an option for me to change the security encryption. Can someone help me please?

Thank you for your question. Normally WPA3 security is handled by your local computer and not the modem. WPA3 is for wireless connections and is set in your wireless adapter. If you are using a wired connection, WPA3 is not relevant. Your computer should be up to date with the latest operating system release in Windows or Mac.
Set up your wireless connection and choose WPA3 as your security measure and you will be fine.

This option is usually available on other providers so I called the Bell helpdesk and I was told that Bell has removed this option. Is there an alternative? I cannot connect the computer through a wired connection because the workstation is in the other room.

WPA2 is a standard for wireless security, and is the default type of wireless security Bell Wi-Fi uses. Your WPA2 key is an alpha-numeric Wi-Fi network password. Without this password you cannot access your Bell Wi-Fi network.

In order to use WPA3, your wireless access points needs to support WPA3

If the Company policy is to use WPA3 for WiFi connections, you would need to purchase a separate AP that supports the WPA3 protocol. Another solution would be to use a wired only connection, as they do not require WPA to function.

It will not be a Bell modem, but it should have a wired connection ability. You will have to use a wired connection to the device and log into the device using the wired connection, so you can access the configuration page and return the WiFi encryption to WPA2 if that protocol is supported by your WiFi adaptor.

Hello All,

Can anyone provide instructions on how to configure WPA3 encryption for new Gigahub modem ?

I was recommended by level 3 tech support of bell to upgrade my modem from homehub 4000 to Gigahub to be able to use WPA3 encryption for my home WiFi network. I did that but somehow am not seeing the option in new Gigahub:

modem’s website >> advanced tools & settings

and

modem’s website >> manage WiFi

to change the encryption type from WPA2 to WPA3.

Any suggestions is sincerely appreciated.

Your simplest option is to ethernet-connect to your modem (which makes wireless security a non-issue). Or, use a 3rd party router [set up as an AP (access point)] which supports WPA3. There are many out there.

If you need WPA3, you'll need a AP that can sit behind your Giga Hub. Plug it into one of the ethernet plugs on the back of the Hub.

The WPA3 will be between your desktop or laptop and your new WPA3-capable AP and then it will travel through ethernet to the Giga Hub and out.

Hi everyone,
WPA3 is supported on the Gigahub. It can be set up by doing the following:

Log into your modem GUI (192.168.2.1 into a browser).

Select "Manage My Wi-Fi".

Ensure "Whole Home Wi-Fi" is toggled to "off" and save the changes *please note Wi-Fi pods will no longer work with this off*.

Select "Advanced settings".

Under the 2.4Ghz, select the drop down for Security Type and put it to WPA3.

Should you wish to have all of your bands set to WPA3, please select the "Keep a common network name (SSID)..." at the top and you will be able to change all the bands to the WPA3 individually.

Please let us know if you have any issues activating WPA3 via the steps.
