Bell Android Box Max Speed of 97.5Mbps when wired

I am new here and just switched from Rogers. I have a Homehub Giga modern with 1.5G speed and Fibe TV. I have a small media closet and my modern in there. I wired a few HDMI cables to the TVs and wired the whole house with CAT6e.

Initially, my Bell Android TV box was plugged into my unmanaged switch using a Cat5e cable (I ran out of 6); I installed a Speedtest app and was only getting 97.5 Mbps every time. I then thought maybe my cable was defective; I used another Cat5e and got the same result of 97.5. I then decided to try installing the cable directly to one of the 4 ports on the modern; the same issue, always getting 97.5. I unplugged the cable and tested the Android box on WiFi, and it was getting between 500 to 600 Mbps. The weird thing is that I am constantly getting 97.5, it seems to be capped at that speed. Usually, when doing a Speedtest, you never get the same results 10 times.

Confused, can someone help?

What is the ethernet capability of the box, 100 or 1000 Mbps?

Hmmm, good question; I have no idea; it is the box Bell provided with the Fibe TV package. Is there a way to find out?

What color is the LED on the ethernet port of the modem when you connect the box to it?

The VIP7802 has a 10/100 Ethernet port.

That would explain the 97.5 Mbps speeds then.

It it both green and amber (I think Amber is the Gigabit).

Why would you provide a box for streaming that has 100 speed only? I also noticed the picture quality is not the same as Rogers Ignite, especially for 4 K watching Sports (only two channels).

Streaming, even in 4k via Bell FibeTV doesn't use much bandwidth? Maybe 20 Mbps max? I'm not sure as I subscribe to the Fibe app and use my AppleTV to stream.

You should have no issues streaming 4K content, 100 Mbps should provide ample bandwidth for any 4K content.

Here are the recommended speeds for Netflix streaming.

Ultra high definition (UHD)

15 Mbps or higher
