The Nest Wifi Pro does have Advanced WAN Settings in the Google Home app which allow connecting through PPPoE but it's failing to connect when I try to set it up. I was able to connect its older sibling the Nest Wifi router through PPPoE before.

I am trying to set up a Nest Wifi Pro with PPPoE credentials and it's unable to connect and get an external Ip address. My Giga Hub is running firmware 1.19.6, are there any known PPPoE passthrough issues with this? Is there a newer firmware available for this or a way to enable bridge mode on this? I need to connect my mesh router as Bell's Wifi coverage is not enough, but can only connect it through DHCP.

If you can only connect it through DHCP, then PPPOE would not work. It's also highly unlikely a mesh system would support PPPOE connections.

So the easiest would be to follow the Nest WiFi Pro guide.

Easiest is DHCP, which is fully supported by the home hub.

Yes but then I run into network performance issues, streams stuttering or devices reporting connecting/reconnecting mid meetings, or mid gaming sessions. This router works best with bridge mode, but I've had the lower version work acceptably with PPPoE passthrough before. That only worked after my Giga Hub firmware got upgraded to a newer than generally available build with @BellPatricia and @BellNick's help. I am wondering if my Hub landed on another firmware where PPPoE passthrough isn't working again.

You can try logging into the Nest and see the logs. They should hopefully list why the PPPOE connection attempt failed.

I am assuming you put the home hub into ADMZ mode for this?

No I didn't put the Giga Hub in ADMZ, I was under the impression that you either use DMZ or PPPoE passthrough, not combined. Is that not the case?

There is PPPOE with DHCP on the home hub turned off.

There is also PPPOE with ADMZ turned on.

Take a look here.
