Issues:
- Large ping spikes in the morning before 11:00AM making gaming impossible, lag of around 100 - 150ping to servers. Happened 2 days in a row.

Setup:

- Wifi to Bell Modem (Giga Hub) - 5G - no other router

- Apartment complex

- Gaming on COD Black ops 6

Tests

- Tried wired and it's consistent 2 - 4 ping to 8.8.8.8

- Tried wireless and it's inconsistent between 10 - 50 ping to 8.8.8.8

- AFTER 11:00AM or so, the wireless ping goes back down to 2 - 4 ping

(I did not move the modem at all, it just magically starts being consistent again).

Not sure what the issue is.

Likely others using the same band for their WiFi. Common issue in an apartment complex. You can try manually moving the wifi band to a different one, but you would need to make sure the new band is not saturated either.

They have phone apps to scan areas for wifi signals and provide a visual overview of the various bands in use.

Thanks for the help, do you have suggestions on an android or iOS app that can scan the wifi signals?

There are apps in the App Store or Google Play. Free is good. You can expect lag when using wireless on a gaming device. A hardwired connection will give you a much better gaming experience.
