Does that mean the advanced DMZ doesn’t work (a defect/issue with the capability) or it doesn’t do what I think it does (web traffic will hit udm first so I can configure duckdns, vpn, port forwarding, etc in udm directly)

Hi - I spent a lot of time trying to implement PPPoE before learning that this wasn't supported. ADMZ should be easy but no matter what I do, HH3000 only sends an internal IP to UDM PRO. I have a direct connection from HH3000 (LAN 2) to UDM Pro port 9. I manually added the Mac address to HH3000. I turned off both, rebooted hh3000 waited till it was fully up then plugged udm pro back in. UDM WAN is set up as dhcpv4.

adding some additional info that hopefully helps - on the HH3000 the Mac address for the udm pro looks to be for the port not the machine (e.g., on the udm pro panel the Mac address shows ...d1, and the hh3000 shows ...d9. in the hh3000 it shows an ip of 2.11 and on the udm panel its shows wan ip 2.1.

Regarding the PPPoE comment - it seems this isn't an option unless I have the ONT in my house (eg., a box where the ethernet cable comes out and plugs into the HH3000. For me I have an SPF that plugs directly into the HH3000.

My goal is simple I want a bridge mode (or as close as possible), so that I can easily implement things like DuckDNS, VPN, etc through udm pro.

Hope this helps. and I really appreciate any help I can get

Bell will not offer a bridge mode to residential customers. They offer PPPoE pass through.

Hi. That just says if you have a static ip the advanced DMZ won’t work. I’m using Dixon udm shouldn’t that work?

assuming admz can’t work how do I implement t pppoe. I have setup pppoe on the udm pro with hh3000 DMZ off and I still don’t get a public ip for the udm pro

any suggestions?

If you have a home hub 3000, you can remove the GPON from the home hub and plug it directly into the SFP+ port on the UDM Pro. Just be careful not to damage the green end on the fiber cable as that will require a technician to put a new connector on it.

I have done this in the past without any issue, just need to be aware the UDM Pro SFP+ port can only sync at 1 or 10 Gbps, so you will be limited to a profile speed of 1/1.

If you want the full 1.5/1, you would need something like the Mikrotik RB5009, which has an SFP+ port that can sync at 2.5/2.5, needed to get 1.5/1 profile speed.
