How do I get Bell to come get a tree off their line. I called it in a month ago and I'm at the point I'm just gonna tie it to the truck and rip it off the line myself. I'm sure you'll have to come fix it for sure at that point since it's a main line that runs down the road feeding everyone's service.

Good Day.

The locates have now been completed & a conditional clearance was provided to hand dig.

Unless I am missing the point, I do not see any value in disconnecting the fibre cable from the side of your home. If it is disconnected from your home, you would immediately be out of service. Your contractor might perceive this as benefit. It would serve little purpose in avoiding damage to the fibre cable.

In either situation, if the cable is damaged, it would need to be repaired or replaced. If the cable is cut, you will need to call: 611 or 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device.

How can Bell help with wire installation and repair?

Thank you for contacting the forum.

Take care

Almost a year ago, Bell installed an overhead wire from a connection box (JIWI) at the foot of my property to a drop 5 houses down the street that suffered a line cut because of reckless digging. The wire now hangs low enough to be a safety hazard for small children or a tall vehicle that must come up a driveway. Two weeks ago, I filed an online complaint on the Bell Canada site and provided pictures. The silence is deafening. Teenage pranksters will either pull the wire down, or children run the risk of hanging from the wire if they decide to swing on it.

I understand your frustration. We had a similar situation at my workplace recently with a Bell aerial line hanging because of a storm damaged tree branch. We called Bell (611) who had a contractor out to repair the line on the same day. Calling Bell can be more effective than sending an e-mail. Even better, do both.

Bell ran new fiber cable through our neighbourhood 2 years ago. When they did this i decided to switch over. When the technician was installing the cable he noticed that the pole was rotted and broken at the ground. I have called 4 times about this pole over 2 years. 1 of those times a service tech came out and verified it was broken. The last 2 times no one has shown up. They were also supposed to burry the cable through my back yard. It is still running through the trees. How do i get this repaired

Thank you for your question. Bell will terminate your copper land line at the demarcation point or home entrance when they install fibre service to your home. They will not remove the copper line, buried or aerial, back to the terminal post. As they own the line and unless your line has been replaced by fibre, you can leave it alone.

A couple years ago a contractor for bell played fibrotic in my community.

yesterday I noticed one of these fiber lines that was layer through a cut (which was patched) across my sidewalk has come back to the surface and is now become a tripping hazard.

my elderly father must step over it with his walker every time he (and I) leave or enter the house.

whom do I talk to about this?

as it gets worse I’m afraid one of us will trip on it.

I wish I could post a picture of it here

thank you for any help in whom to contact about this issue

Thanks for your question. The same thing happened on my street. A sidewalk snowplow took out a lot of fibre You should call Bell at 1 866 310-BELL (2355) and report it. Bell will have a contractor repair the fibre.
