Welcome and thank your for your excitement in the Bell Community's first Ask an expert event!

Until August 10th, at 10AM EST @BellSteven from Field Services along with @BellYan and @BellBen from the Technology Team are on hand to answer your questions about Bell Whole Home Hub and Wi-Fi equipment in both English and French.

You must be a registered user in the Bell Community to participate. Not yet registered? You can Log in/Register.

Guidelines for the Community and Ask an expert

There are a few basic guidelines we ask everyone to follow to ensure a fun, informative, educational and safe community and event.

1. If you have a question to ask, you can post it below as a Reply as soon as the event begins.

2. Not able to make Ask an expert? Don't worry, the Ask an expert thread is open for early bird questions before August 9th's 5PM start.

3. @BellSteven, @BellYan and @BellBen will be here and available to answer your questions during the 2hr event; questions will be answered on a first come first basis. Please be patient and allow time for a response. We assure everyone will get a response to their question, even if the event ends before you receive your response

4. @BellSteven, @BellYan and @BellBen will not be able to comment on products or services that have not been announced and/or communicated to the public.

5. Please assure your questions are on topic to the Ask an expert event and aligned to the Community guidelines. Do not post any personal or private information. If we need to gather further information from you, a Bell Community Moderator will reach out to you via private message.

Creating Schedules in Giga hub (4000 modem)

Hello everyone;

I upgraded my modem 1000 to 1 Gbyte fiber with 4000 modem. I was hoping to be able to create schedules to limit the internet time of my kids on some devices but it seems that this option does not exist on the 4000....I used to do thisusing 192.168.2.1. Here I installed the Bell Wifi app and it is possible to block a device only for ONE time period during the day which is quite limited.

Is there a way to block an device from the internet for several periods like 12 am-10am and 12pm-2pm???

if not I am very disapointed by the lack of control that this last modem version can offer...Any help is welcomed...

Thanks for the question!

We are aware of this limitation in the Bell Wi-Fi App when pausing or blocking internet access and are looking into improving the parental control functionality in an upcoming release. Stay tuned!

What is the latest generation/version number of the WIFI Pods?

Can the WIFI Pods be hard wired via Ethernet backhaul?

Can Fibe TV run off my own WIFI access point or my own router's Ethernet or does it need the HH4000 WIFI or Ethernet to work?

Thanks for your post!

The latest generation of pods are called “Wi-Fi Pod” (previous generations are called “Wi-Fi Pod Mini”). They are a bit bigger and their serial number start with B or F
Yes, Wi-Fi Pods can be wired to your Home Hub with an Ethernet cable to the modem LAN port. They can also be used to connect via an Ethernet cable to a device like an older PC that is not Wi-Fi capable so it can use the Pod’s Wi-Fi.
Your Fibe TV set top box needs to be connected to the modem over Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable.
