What exactly is the point purpose of the b1# ?

Is it intended mainly for wired connections? For WIFI, is it needed? Can't a subscriber just find their network and add the password provided?

Your user ID and password are automatically assigned to you when you sign up for Bell Internet service.

Yes, a subscriber can find their network and password. This is normally provided to you in your welcome kit. It is also setup & stored within your Bell modem.

The Bell internet "b1 number" is your User ID (e.g., b1xxxxxx). It is used for connecting your modem to the Bell internet. It's the username assigned to you when you subscribe and is required for initial setup, accessing your online account, and identifying yourself to support.

Without a "b1 number" you would not be able to connect your Bell modem to the Bell network. It is your internet account registration number.

Your Wi-Fi Home network name & password are managed from within your modem.
