Found a solution on reddit :

"Hi every one had the very same problem

Solution: Press window key; type network connections

Right click your network 5Gb; in the box that pops up select configure

In the new box select the advanced tab; scroll down to Speed & Duplex

Select 2.5 Gbps Full Duplex or 5 Gbps Full Duplex depending on your suppliers connection speed

Select ok

Should be good to go may have to reboot your computer

Enjoy"

So basically, changing the network configuration to force 2.5Gbps Full Duplex and doing the same on the modem, fixed the problem. Thanks.

Just got a replacement giga hub day or two ago. The previous hub kept rebooting and disconnecting on its own so they sent me a replacement. At the same time I got a new Linksys atlas max 6e to replace my previous Linksys velop axe5400 that has wifi6 only.

It's been two months since I got rid of my previous wifi 6 velop since I went out of the country. As I was setting up my new max6e router.. I tried to plug it into the 10gb port on my giga hub but I get no response from that port. Regardless if the router is on dhcp or ppoe. The lights on that port don't even light up unlike if I plug the router into the yellow 1gb port. I looked at the logs on the hub and it shows that I tried sending data on that 10gb port but it got rejected.

Pretty sure previously with my old router I was using the 10gb port even though it was limited at 1gb on the wan port.

I have Fibe 3gb service and was hoping to fully utilize the service as much as possible..anyone know how to enable the 10gb port at the back? Tried to call bell tech and wasn't helpful as the tech didn't even though there was a 10gb port at the back let alone how to use it.

Check the GigaHub's "Advanced tools and settings" -> "Ethernet". It will show you how the port is configured. It should be configured to "Auto" or to the exact speed that you want. Maybe if you force it to 10G (or whatever) it will help. Then check "Diagnostics" and it will tell you at least if the 10G port is connected. It doesn't give any details beyond a check mark indicating that it is connected, unfortunately.

I have the same problem. The 5G network card I installed will negotiate with a 1G port but not the 10G port. It is dead. So I plug the 10G port into my 1G network card and it connects fine at 1G speeds. It doesn't make sense. It is not even giving the 5G card an IP address when plugged into the 10 G port, regardless if I leave the port speed at automatic or 5G. Tech support was utterly useless and they would not escalate to anyone above them that was more technical. I haven't cancelled my cable internet yet. May be returning.

This is not uncommon. Pending on the chipset used on the gigahub modem, it might only be able to link a 1 or 10 Gbit full/half duplex. Same is true for the network card used, as not all will support linking at 1/2.5/5/10.

I have no idea if the gigahub supports linking at 5 Gbit.

Not all chipsets can link at 1/2.5/5/10 Gbit full/half duplex.

I just bought a Unifi USG Max with 2.5Gb ports. When i connect it to one of the 1GB ports on the Gigahub, i get 1GB speed as expected.

When i connect it to the 10GB port i still get only 1Gb. So in found in this forum hints to change the speed in the advanced settings of the modem. So i changed the 10Gb port speed from Auto to 10GB and left Duplex to Auto. But then the speed goes down to 100mb...

Any idea?

Router: Unifi USG Max

Set it to 2.5 Gbps full duplex in the modem. It should then link at 2.5/2.5 with the USG MAX.

The only issue is I don't know what link speeds the 10Gbps ports on the home hub supports. Some only support 1 and 10, while others support 1/2.5/5/10.

If the modem was supporting only 1/10, wouldnt it be reflected in the menu? Why allow me to choose all speeds if only some are supported? Is it because bell has put the same UI on all giga hubs, no matter what they support?

Then it's either a cabling issue, or a chipset compatibility issue. It could also be a bug in the home hub firmware, but I have not heard anything about that.

I have done the same upgrade on my side (going from 2.5G to 5G). The router seems to automatically connect at 5G, but it does not respond to my computer (only outgoing trafic in Ethernet status in Windows task manager). When I force the link at 2.5G, it works fine but does not give me the full 3G from the Modem. I tried different cables, Cat5e and Cat6 that are supposed to work at 5G. I even bought a Cat6A that can do 10G. Same result: works at 2.5G, but not at 5G. I bought another 5G card from a different vendor. Same result with the modem. If I connect the two 5G cards together, they communicate at full speed using any of my cables. So, it seems like the Giga Hub does not really support 5G, even if it says so.

A 10Gb card is always best. Prices have dropped in the last year by about 30%. Just make sure the adapter will fit your computer and that it is not an SFP card. It should have an RJ45 port, not and SFP port. Icing on the cake is a 10Gb unmanaged switch, which allows the 10Gb network to serve multiple computers. That costs ~$350.

So I went with a 10GB card at the end of the day and it solved everything. I also went to my local "Canadian Computers" to get it rather than ordering online, as it seems their cards were a little more robust, but that could be my imagination.

I'm getting 3Gig at the PC and actually 3.15 on the upload side, so all is well now. I think.it should almost be an instruction that comes with the unit to do so. When I called tech support at Bell they were polite, but I was basically told that support stops at rebooting and they don't have technical support beyond that. Cogeco always had excellent tech support in this regard, but hey - Their price had creeped up over time and I am.paying less now for 3GB than I was for 1GB that had been sitting at 350MBps for several months after a cable issue down the road, so Bell got my business.
