What the...?? I switched from Videotron(big mistake) who provided me with an SMTP address to use for my various outgoing emails. Apparently Bell doesn't provide such a thing...??

This is shaping up to be the shortest subscription in human history. I can't believe this.

I am also wondering if Bell provides an SMTP relay so that I can send emails through my customized email server(with my domain).

Yea, seems I'm either gonna need to access port 25 to run my own smtp server, or go back to Videotron. But that seems to be the bottom line...

Really hoping Bell can provide me with a solution, I'd really hate to think I went through all this for nothing. Hell I even had to by a 10Gb network card for this 3Gb line to work.

Hi @Rickkins

I came from Rogers a month ago. Rogers does block port 25. This is normal practice for most of ISPs.

I use Dynu Email store/forward and SMTP relay services as a workaround solution. If you are interested, visit www.dynu.com.

You can't use port 25. It's blocked by Bell (and most ISPs). Use 587 TLS.

More here: Email Server Settings

Hi @ZaneP

Tried the Bell SMTP server, and it works. However, SPF soft-fail message showing in the original email. This may potentially cause emails marked as spam. So I guess using Bell SMTP service is not an option for me.

For my testing, I send a test email to a Gmail account via a Bell SMTP server. If I open the email and select "show original", I see:

spf=softfail (google.com: domain of transitioning yourname@yourdomain.com does not designate ***.**.***.** as permitted sender)
