Giga Modem Admin interface no longer works in Firefox?

So started to have issues that I can no longer log into my Modem using Firefox 151. I just kept getting this generic message:

Invalid password. You can find your default password in the modem's screen menu under "Modem Management".

SO a few things..

This error is frustrating because there is no Modem Management screen on the modem so Bell need to fix this error please.

I tried calling Bell and they said the only option I had was to reset the modem but I have a bunch of port forwards and VPN tunnels setup and DHCP reservations so I did not want to do this. For some reason I don't know why I didn't think about it I tried with Chrome and I could get into the modem. Somthing has changed in the last week because I could log in using Firefox then. The only thing that I can think of is that Firefox just fixed like 270+ bugs in their code and JavaScript engine because of Claude Mythos and maybe the modem is using some stuff hackey JavaScript when verifying the password that only Firefox has fixed in their system?

Either way I am curious if other can test if then can log into their modem using Firefox and reply you result as well as what Firefox version you are using?

PS: The agent asked me a few questions on the phone and thought I forgot my WiFi password and then the agent rhymed off my SSID and my password for it. CREEPY AS HECK that a level 1 Bell help desk agent can see this kind of information. Imagine what a rogue employee could do with that kind of access or if they were asked to get this information for for money. Bell agents should ONLY have the ability to reset passwords not see them. Even myself as an IT admin do not have this level of access to users passwords, this is standard security practice for all system for this exact reason. anyway Bell please fix this!

Are you able to share which device you are using Firefox on?
Are you able to access the modem GUI on Firefox from a different device (if you have another to test with)?
Have you tried clearing your browser history, data, cookies & cache to see if that resolves the issue?

I have the Giga Modem mentioned in the title and the interface opens fine in Firefox but I cannot login when using Firefox 151 i used to be able to do this 1 week ago again mentioned above .. Yes I can login using a different browser as I mentioned above. Yes I have tried Incognito tab (takes care of all data and caching issues) I only use incognito to log into my modem.

Guys this now no longer works in Chrome either as what ever Firefox has patched so has Chrome. Edge is the ONLY browser that you can log into the modem with. Can someone from Bell please look at this issue before it becomes a real issue for users and they can no longer log into their modems!!!

Thank you for posting your question.

The current version of Firefox is 152.0.1.

I installed Firefox Ver. 152.0.1 (64-bit) earlier today on a computer that is using Microsoft Windows 11 - 25H2. I did not experience any issues accessing the Bell Giga Hub modem GUI.

I was also able to access the modem with the most current versions of Chrome Version 149.0.7827.115 (Official build) (64-bit) & Edge Version 149.0.4022.80 (Official build) (64-bit) with no issues.

I tested all 3 browsers as well in: Incognito / InPrivate with no issues.

How are you accessing Firefox?
Have you tried using a different computer and or device?
Have you tried uninstalling FireFox and reinstalling the most current version?
Have you tried clearing your browser history, data, cookies & cache to see if that resolves the issue?

I can confirm I have the same issue. I reached out to Bell support, they reset the admin password back to the S/N (which I had already done through a factory reset) and it sill didn't work. They sent me a new modem. (That one didn't work because it hadn't been linked to my account correctly and support wasn't able to help and said a tech needed to come out, but that's besides the point I'm sending it back).

Then it occurred to me I hadn't tried a different browser. It really should be the first thing support suggests when someone has an issue logging in as admin... and sure enough it worked on Edge. It still works on Edge as of today, I haven't tried Chrome. Bell needs to fix this ASAP -- and their poor support.

Firefox: 152.0.3 (64-bit)

Edge: 149.0.4022.98 (Official build) (64-bit)

This workaround works for me as well. Using `http://192.168.2.1` instead of `https://192.168.2.1` or simply `192.168.2.1` which redirects to https allows me to login with firefox. I guess this is fine for a home network where presumably all connected devices are trusted... I do still think that this indicates an issue with Bell's firmware that was likely surfaced by the latest browser security patches and I hope Bell can push a patch soon.

Sounds like a security certificate issue and the browser does not allow you to proceed unless the security certificate is valid.

It's very common for LAN devices not to have public security certificates, since those are not public addresses.

I confirm that a similar issue recently occurred for me too with FireFox 152.0.4 (64-bit). There was a "400: Bad Request" error.
There is no problem when using Edge.
There is no problem when using FireFox PRIVATE tab. Rather than digging deeper, I just open the modem interface within a PRIVATE tab (not Incognito, that's Chrome)

If a private tab works, but a regular tab does not, that usually indicates an issue with 1 or more plugins.

Turning them off 1 by 1 might shed some light on which plugin is causing issues.

This is not a incognito issue, I have tested across multi platforms and browsers.. Seems to only be Firefox that is effected and I believe (no proof) that because of all the patches that Mythos did on their platform they have fixed some bug in JavaScript that the modem was using for login.
