Replacement fiber cable for Bell Giga Hub - which connector do I need?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to replace the fiber cable that came with my Bell Giga Hub.

I bought a replacement fiber cable, but the connector is different from the original Bell cable, so it doesn’t fit the Giga Hub

Could someone confirm:

What type of connector/cable does the Bell Giga Hub use?

What exact cable should I buy as a replacement?

Is there a specific Bell-compatible fiber cable I should look for?

Also, had a chat with the support team - they suggested to call bell stores, however, bell stores have no idea about those cables and they do not sell it.

The fibre cable itself comes from a box. This is not something that should be replaced and it's very sensitive to damage when handled improperly.

What is the reason you want to change it?

If you have inadvertently damaged this cable and or wishing to extend the length of this fibre cable, e.g. modem relocation, etc., then you will need to contact Bell Internet Tech support. You may need to book a tech visit to complete this work activity.

As mentioned in my earlier reply, if you wish to extend the fibre cable and or move the modem to another location in your home, you will need to contact Bell Internet Tech support to book an appointment for a technician visit.

Bell charges a one-time technician service fee (equipment relocation fee / wiring repair fee) of approximately: $75 to $150 to have a technician come out and relocate a fibre optic cable and modem after the initial installation.

What are Bell's current one-time fees?

What I did at the time when they installed it, is that I asked the installer to provide me with an extra long version of the cable that goes from the box to the modem, so I can move the modem in the future to a different location if I want.

So he made me a nice long cable and we coiled up the excess.

I think the best solution for your case would be have a technician drop by and make you a longer cable.
