Back in the summer of 2024, they dug up lawns on my street, and installed optic lines. I've had a coil sitting beside my house for that long. I keep getting told fibe isnt available at my residence. When I had a rep escalate my concern, I had an email back a week later and saying its expected to be 2028

does this seem normal to anyone?

Thank you for your question. I can appreciate your frustration. I suggest you keep trying the Bell Internet page to determine what is available to you. Once fibre is available, you can arrange for installation. As this is a peer to peer forum, we have no way of knowing any details of Bell's fibre rollout in a particular area.

Thank you for the clarification. My own experience with the fibre installation is about 2 years old.

One summer, a Bell contractor did all the excavating on the street for below ground vaults and ran the cable to the house, leaving a large roll of fibre optic cable at the utility entrance. Within a month, another contractor hooked up all the fibre and connected it to the Central Office. Then I waited. One day, Bell called me to upsell me to Crave. I politely cut off the sales rep saying that unless they offered me fibre, I was not interested. They asked if they could book an installation appointment. I had fibre installed within a week. The overall time from digging to installation was about four months. I still don't have or want Crave.

I have recently moved to a new address and I'm really sad to know that Bell doesn't have the fiber internet connection on this address. However, I have checked online and found that its available up to the house next to mine but they didn't extend it to the last few houses at the end of the street including mine. I have been a bell customer for 3 years now and I had to give up only because the service wasn't available on my address. Could someone please tell me how can I request them to come and extend that fiber connection to my house? Or if someone from the management team is looking at it from Windsor, ON, Canada or from the headquarters, please help me get your services.

Thank you for your question. While frustrating to see fibre running by your door, there is no way to tell exactly what is being supplied by the fibre. Dedicated fibre is used to connect cell tower sites. It also connects emergency services with both primary and fall back or secondary links. It is not easy to identify the owners of specific fibre lines, especially if they are installed by third party contractors. All fibre does look the same. Often the only way to identify fibre ownership is to follow it to a slack box on the outside of a building, where the company logo may be present.

I appreciate your frustration. I was on DSL for over two decades until fibre was offered in my neighbourhood. All I can suggest is that you watch for third party contractors with big vacuum trucks. That means construction is happening, although sign up may be months away.

Good Day & Welcome

Thank you @Marcus1 for posting your question and raising your concern.

Bell does not publish public rollout schedules for their Fibe (FTTH) network. This type of rollout & placement information is not available on this site. We are not privy to Bell's fibre design, engineering, placement & activation scheduling. We can only provide you with the best available information at our disposal.

Bell "Fibe to the node" was the initial step in providing a form of digital subscriber line (DSL) internet service that runs over traditional copper phone lines rather than direct fiber-optic cables. Bell is in the process of upgrading & replacing this with their Fibe (FTTH) network.

In order to do so, existing services must be maintained while the infrastructure and backbone for fibre is being built. This will take time & resources. Our Canadian climate plays a major role in what can be done & when during the months of November to mid-April.

Internet services vary by location. If you wish, you can go to this web link: Pure fibre Internet | Bell Canada to periodically check availability. On the top of the page: “Enter your address” to see services available to you. (Do not log in to MyBell account.)

I can certainly understand and relate to your frustrations. I wish there was something further I could do for you by offering up an alternative solution.

Unfortunately, there is no quick fix.

Take care.
