Hi @Benny10 & @BellNick ... I hope you do not mind me jumping in on this topic as myself and my family have the same issue with Hub3000 the 3rd light to the right not lit (Fibe TV/Service Light). On Friday morning (Oct 23), I noticed only 2 white lights out of the 3 were on. I thought something was wrong with the house synchronization. Everything thank goodness was still working ok (ie: TV's all ok, landline all ok & computers wifi all ok). I rebooted the Modem to see if the 3rd light would return which it did not. The Left & Middle lights came back white and not the 3rd. Then I completed the Bell Virtual Repair Tool which did not find anything and suggested restarting the Modem ... which again resulted with the 3rd light not showing up. I called Bell Repair and spoke to a wonderful Rep and she confirmed if all of my services where ok and working (which they are).... she advised there was an update in our area and it is ok if only the Left & Middle lights are showing, for now the 3rd light will not appear as they are aware etc. If myself or my family start noticing any of our services not working or acting up we are to call back. I have attached a pic and I hope this is making sense. Thank you

Hi @Benny10
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to clarify which light you're referring to? Are you referring to the buttons on the front of the modem (information button, password button and WPS button)?

If so, which one in particular is not lit up?
Are you experiencing any connections issues, error codes or messages on your modem?
Have you tried rebooting your equipment?
Looking forward to hearing back.

I'm referring to the three lights on the front of the modem. The info and password button are lit (white) but not the WPS button. All three were lit up a few days ago but not now. I have tried rebooting the modem but it makes no difference. I've also unplugged the modem and plugged it back in but again no difference. Despite not having the WPS button lit all functions (internet and TV) appear to work.

Hi

Noticed in the past few days, the 3rd light on the modem is not illuminated. It has been on since I got the modem. I also removed the backup battery. The modem has been reset a couple of times as well.

I logged into the modem and it said phone services not activated, or similar. I checked my bill and I am paying for phone and it looks active there. Also, just got a phone call so the phone is working.

Anyway, light was on before and I'm assuming it's supposed to be on so I'm looking for help as to what I should do, why it happened, etc. Thanks

The WPS light should only light up when you press the WPS button and enter WPS mode. It should go out after roughly 2 minutes.

As far as I know, having 2 out of 3 lights on is normal?

It may be normal now, but it wasn't until a few days ago. Since we received the modem we alway had 3 lights on constantly and now only have 2. As it doesn't effect function I'm going to forget about it as it seems the issue is widespread.

Guess what? It's back on. I came down this morning to all 3 lights, the way it was until a week or 2 ago. Interested to see if others found the same

Same for us this morning. Three lights on again. Looks like the earlier post about 2 lights and the WAN reference may not be correct.

Since the Hub 3000 was installed on my system about 5 years ago, default WPS light behaviour has always been "on". Blog comments indicate change to "off" on or around Oct 23, 2026, which coincide with my observations. As of this morning, Oct 29, default behaviour "on" has been restored. Default "on" makes sense otherwise you wouldn't know the WPS button was even there, except from up close.

According to Gemini:

"The October 23rd Change: Bell pushed an automated software update to Home Hub 3000 modems. This update was intended to alter the default state of the WPS light so that it would remain off unless pairing was active.

The Widespread Confusion: Because these modems have functioned with all 3 lights strictly "on" for the better part of a decade, the sudden change triggered a flood of calls and forum posts from users thinking their modems were failing or that the third LED had burned out. Even Bell’s own community managers and support reps initially gave conflicting answers, trying to figure out if it was a widespread glitch or a planned feature deployment

The Rollback (Oct 29): As noticed this morning, Bell silently pushed out a patch to reverse the change. Due to the volume of user confusion, or perhaps because the update accidentally caused the light to cycle on and off unpredictably rather than staying cleanly shut down, they restored the original firmware logic."
