Traeger smoker and 2.4GHz connection to Giga Hub modem

My Traeger smoker has wifi connection capability but only at 2.4 GHz. How do I configure my Giga Hub modem to allow the Traeger to recognize the network?

If your device can connect at 2.4 Ghz, follow the device's directions and the Wi-Fi app to connect it to the Giga Hub. If the device is within range of the Giga Hub you should be able to connect.

Thanks for your response. I did follow the device's directions however it did not connect as the Giga Hub is operating at 5 GHz not 2.4. Is there away to configure the Giga Hub to offer 2.4 GHz connectivity as well as 5?

Hi @GaGstr

Usually a wifi device will connect on its expected radio band. Bell's Home Hub is configured to offer either band seamlessly. Have you confirmed that Traeger has/hasn't connected to the Hub? To do this:

Log into the Giga dashboard/management console
Click on My Devices
Look at the list of connected devices. Is the Trager listed?

If it's not listed, then you could take the next step. Separate the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands.

You'll need to turn off "whole home wifi" on your Hub.

Log into the Giga dashboard/management console
Click on Manage My Wi-fi
Turn off Whole Home Wi-fi
Give each band its own SSID. I suggest you use the same password for each.
Save and close

This change should see the separated bands explicitly advertising themselves on your network. But the Home Hub can't help our devices connect wirelessly. That's typically a device problem.

Curious. In my own network the Giga Hub operates on both 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz frequencies. The setup is automatic and the modem and device negotiate the appropriate frequency. . My suggestion is that the Giga Hub is not picking up the wi-fi from your smoker, possibly based on distance between the devices or other factors. Has it been able to connect to other modems before?
