I want to connect my Chromebook(Intel® Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) ) to the WiFi 6 available on the Giga Hub modem. I have attached a capture of the session log. It appears it will roam from the 2.4(3D) to 5(3F), and 5 to 2.4, but is never offered 6 (b9:3A). I do not want to add a separate modem, or separately named SSIDs . Should the Giga Hub not allow a WiFi 6 connection with the whole home option selected? Just to be clear it will connect at 2.4/5.

Hey there @Peterrrr & @dks 🙂
Just wanted to jump in here to offer some clarification. The Gigahub supports Wi-Fi 6e, and operates on 2.4GHz, 5.0GHz and 6GHz bands. Wi-Fi 6 Devices will only work on 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz, while Wi-Fi 6E devices can work on 2.4GHz, 5.0GHz and 6.0GHz.
Can you share the make/model/year of your Chromebook, as well as which Windows version you're running? Keep in mind that only Windows version 11 supports Wi-Fi 6e.

With all respect, Bell support technicians in DSLR said in December that 6E (and 6E for the pods) was not yet supported but will be soon. Has that change been instituted, then?

Wifi 6E issue

Hi all,

I am having an issue with the WiFi 6E on my Giga hub modem. It won't show the 6E upon connection. It was displayed the first 2 days when I installed my modem, but now, it only shows WiFi 6. I spoke to a bell representative through chat, and they made a separate network form my regular WiFi network, named "abc-Wifi6E". That seems to work, but I was wondering why it does not work regularly on auto mode? And if I want to switch it back to auto mode, how do I do that? As I'd like to experiment more with this connection. I tried staying close to the modem, and still no WiFi 6E. I appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Yes the Bell Giga Hub is wifi 6e compatible. I thought it was a problem with Bell but after an OS update from Apple I connect with wifi 6e and 6.0 GHz using my MacBook Pro. The problem was with Apple, not Bell.

I prefer to use different SSID instead of 1 because if I use one SSID it only connects to 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz but never on wifi 6e 6.0 GHz.

After months of calling Bell support regarding wifi 6e compatibility I just received an Apple Update and now I connect to wifi 6e on the 6.0GHz band. So the Giga Hub from Bell is really Wifi 6e ready. My MacBook Pro 2023 does indeed connect to wifi 6e. So this is the end of the discussion but feel free to post your comment on this site.

With wifi 6e speed is really faster specially for downloads. My Giga Hub Plan is 3.0 Gbps so download speed is really faster than wifi 6.
