Have you tried setting up everything again from scratch using PPPoE on your router?
- Patricia

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Giga Hub from HH4K to use PPPoE pass-through. Since the GigaHub was installed, I noticed that my router (Asus AX86U) received the same IP as GigaHub. I didn't enable the port forwarding on the GigaHub but only on the router; everything works as expected.

This morning I restarted GigaHub and the router, and both pieces of equipment still received the same IP. The porting forwarding is only on the router, and everything works as expected. I read another post that said the Hub and the router should receive a different IP.

Is anything I missed in the config?

Thanks

@BellPatricia

Yes, I did have ADMZ enabled. And I did reboot the GigaHub and the router, including disabling and enabling the GigaHub ADMZ, removing the router from the ADMZ and adding it back. The GigaHub received the same IP as it had before the rebooting. More like I have a static IP (I have a residential plan).

Hey there @equinox, thanks for your reply.

There is no problem with the Giga Hub receiving the same IP address as the one it had before being rebooted. In some cases, the Giga Hub will get the same IP address after a reboot.
Since you have advanced DMZ enabled, it is normal for your 3rd party router to have the same IP address as the Giga Hub.

If you would like to have a different IP address on your router, PPPoE needs to be set up properly on your router. Please follow your 3rd party router manual/instructions to set up PPPoE on the router.
When configuring PPPoE on the router, there is no need to configure ADMZ on the Giga Hub, and the router will receive an IP address from the Bell network rather than from the Giga Hub.

Keep the community posted on how everything is going 🙂
- Patricia

This morning the GigaHub received a firmware 1.16 upgrade. I rebooted the modem and the router, and both devices still have the same IP, and the IP is the same as before the upgrade.

I disabled the ADMZ and rebooted both the modem and the router (PPPoE setup); no public IP on the router.
