How do I stop simpatico from continually downloading old emails. Every day it downloads over 1,000 old messages . If I don't delete them each day they accumulate until there is no memory and simpatico shuts down

Hi @Fraserwood

If you're using older software email clients like Windows Live Mail to get your Sympatico email, you need to make sure the setting for the email server is set to IMAP, not POP. POP email servers will push out old emails when you log in, and they will be stored on your local device (like a computer's drive). IMAP always stores email on its server and not on your computer.

So have a look at your email settings. There is help on how to do this: Trouble-shooting Bell Email, here

Here's a screenshot of Bell's email server settings. For incoming mail, use the IMAP settings. Hope this helps.

Keep us updated!
