topic Ethernet Ports on Gigahub 4000 died? in Internet

At about 10am this morning, my Fibe TV box that was wired via ethernet showed that it "lost its connection". No big deal. Wifi still worked so I switched it over and thought nothing else of it.

Just a few minutes ago, I tried to access my Hue lights, and cannot access any of them, because they can't find the hub which is, you guessed it, ATTACHED via ETHERNET. This device MUST be wired to Ethernet so if my ports stop working, it's a HUGE problem.

I tried two different ports on the back. When I connected the ethernet to the ports, I get the same thing - a solid yellow light above the port, and no green light.

Any thoughts. My first thought is to cancel Bell and go back to Rogers as Fibe has been 8 months of frustration since I got it......

Sounds like you had a network loop. If you have the ability, try enabling RSTP protocol on the switch(es) connected to the HH4000.

If it's a managed switch make sure the administration interface is on it's own IP, and not an existing static IP like the interface of the HH4000.
