How to add a smartwatch plan to an existing number.

So I am looking to add a smart watch to my plan and I get past the initial part, but when I go to check out it keeps asking me to either set up a new number or transfer an existing number. If I am adding it onto an existing number from bell why would I need to transfer a number?
