topic Public IP for nighthawk m5 mobile hotspot in Mobility

Hello,

I am using the Nighthawk M5 mobile hotspot router, which is connected to a laptop (and subsequently connected to some hardware that the laptop is controlling). I am trying to make the laptop publicly available so I can remotely send commands through sockets from anywhere to the laptop, and then the laptop will control some hardware connected to it. It works very well with my home router where I can use port forwarding, but for some reason when I try and setup the m5 with port forwarding, it won't allow for a connection.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi @BellAntonie,

thanks for your reply. I have reviewed both of those but unfortunately I am still stuck. To be clear, I have my laptop connected to the M5 and receive internet, no issues there. However, the following I am not able to accomplish:

-Computer A connected to internet via M5 mobile hotspot.

-Computer B connected to internet via Bell Giga Hub.

Computer A is able to connect to Computer B through a TCP socket connection, as I have configured the Bell Giga Hub to port forward to Computer B's IP address, port #2525.

However, if I try the opposite, Computer B is unable to connect to Computer A through a TCP socket connection, even with port forwarding setup on the M5 setup. I have also tried enabling IP Pass-Through and disabling DHCP on the M5, but it still won't establish that connection.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Matt
