Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has had issues with their mobile data in the GTA in the past week? SMS and calls seem to work fine as does Wi-Fi.

I also swapped SIM cards and found the device to work within expectations. I've rebooted, restarted, gone in and out of airplane mode, uninstalled apps, cleared browser caches and overall everything short of a factory reset of my Samsung Galaxy S24.

Just wondering if anybody else has had issues with their mobile data connections? Thanks!

Hey there, @Matthais. Thanks for reaching out.

It's great to see all the troubleshooting you've already done! It can be difficult to nail down the exact cause of slow data speeds, especially in an area as busy and crowded as the GTA. For a few follow-up questions:

Do you know of anyone else using Bell or on the Bell Network experiencing similar slowdowns with data speeds?

You say it's in the GTA - could you be a little more specific? Is it worse at home, at work, etc.

Have you spoken to Tech Support to open a ticket for investigation if necessary?

Additionally, we'd also recommend taking a look at our How To on Troubleshooting data connectivity for more tips.

Looking forward to hearing back from you. Best wishes.

Hi Kris,

Thanks for your reply! After doing a bit more troubleshooting, it looks like the problem is more hardware based than anything service based.

I have friends who have Bell who have had no issues, it's happening uniformly across the GTA (downtown Toronto, North York, suburbs like Vaughan and Richmond Hill, etc). I have not spoken to tech support to open a ticket, though, given it seems the problem is more hardware driven either with the board or the antenna as WiFi is now occasionally spotty.

That does lead to an interesting question, though. I'm on a payment plan for the device for 6 more months. Is the device under warrantee until the 2 year payment plan expires? Or is that out of scope for this message board?

Thanks for the reply and further questions, appreciate it!

Matt

Hey there, @Matthais. Thanks for getting back to us, and it's great to hear you've managed to potentially narrow down the cause.

As your phone is on an agreement with us here at Bell, did you agree to Smart Phone Care when upgrading, or within 30 days of activating your new phone? If so, you can check out our Support article How to protect my mobile phone with Smart Phone Care for more details on replacements and how to put in a repair order.

If not, at 18 months you would be outside of the manufacturer's standard limited warranty already. Repairs can be provided for out-of-warranty service, but you would be responsible for all associated fees. You can read more on Support pages Bell hardware warranty information and Bell Mobility in-store device repairs for more details.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
