Hey @Iain

There are a few ways to retrieve deleted messages under certain conditions.

I have an iPhone so my approach works for apple but I’m sure Samsung and other android devices have something similar, I just don’t know the details.

if you backed up your iPhone then your text messages will also be backed up. To retrieve backed up messages, go to Settings > your name > iCloud and then toggle off the messages app. When you do that, you will get an option to “disable and download messages”. If you select that, your phone will start downloading messages in your cloud that are not on your phone. Then you can enable that function again.

If you have not backed up or auto backed up your iPhone after the message you want to retrieve was created, then there is a more complicated approach you can take that involves 3rd party programs.

Basically when you delete your messages its actually still in the phone storage until it is overwritten with other data. Until then, you can use a software to retrieve the deleted but not overwritten text. I don’t know enough about this method but tried it once a long time ago and it worked. You will have to do a little research on google but doable for sure.

hope this helps and keep us updated.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Communith Forum

Once deleted from your phone, text message history would be unable to retrieved and cannot be provided. The same also goes for call history.

Call and message records/transcripts are also not available upon request, unless required for court related purposes. If it is needed for such a request, it has to be requested by the court/lawyers.

Take care.
