Mobility voicemail security protocol

How can I get rid of the useless protocol that requires me to state my name and time that precedes my access to my voicemail messages?

There are a number of options available for changing your Personal Greeting & or eliminating your greeting entirely when you wish to retrieve your Bell Mobility Voicemail messages.

1. Personal Greeting

Access your mailbox by pressing and holding the 1 key on your mobile phone.

Press 4 for Personal options.
Press 3 for Personal greeting options.
Press 1 and follow the instructions for changing your greeting.

2. Skipping your Password

Once you turn on this option, you’ll go straight to your mailbox when calling from your mobile phone. However, for security purposes, we recommend that you use a personal password.

You’ll still need to enter your password if you access your voice mailbox from another phone.

To set up skip password

Access your mailbox by pressing and holding the 1 key on your mobile phone.
Press 4 for Personal options.
Press 2 for Administrative options.
Press 1 for Password options.
Press 2 for Turn skip password on/off.
Press 1 to turn skip password on, or Press 2 to turn Skip password off.aeronal

Why does my voicemail require me to record who I am and what time of day it is, every time I check my voicemail? I am the only one who has access to my voicemail, so who else is it going to be? Also when it accesses my voicemail it tells me in an automated voice, the time and date of my last access. Both questions are pretty redundant and stupid and I've yet to find out how to change the settings.

All resolved by turning off the security options, under 4 for personal settings then 6, and then 2 to turn off.

When I have a voicemail I can't just put my password in and go listen to my voicemail. Every single time I have to tell my phone my name and the time. I cannot find where to turn this off. It is extremely annoying and I'm ready to throw my phone across the room.

Please provide details? Device? iOS or OS & is it up to date? Apps up to date.\? Have you powered device down completely? Have checked the time & date on device settings on device & are they current & correct?

The first time you use Message Centre, you'll be asked to set up your voicemail mailbox.

Access your voicemail mailbox by pressing and holding the 1 key on your mobile phone.
Follow the prompts to record your name.
Choose your greeting:
Choose your password option:
Your Message Centre service is now activated.

My device is a Google Pixel 7 pro, about 6 months old. But the voicemail is through Bell, which I have had for at least 20 years. This has been going on for the last few months. So yes, the phone has been on and off, several updates since. Like I said, it's a Bell voicemail option, not a phone settings option. Although I have checked that too.

the suggestion from welsh terrier doesn't work for me I can remove the need to use a password when I enter voicemail, but it still asks me to give my name and time. Changing my greeting is irrelevant. Welsh terrior's post doesn't address the issue raised by Andy 99 at all?

@PhilipEC you are absolutely correct. My original post does not answer your question. It was a solution to the question raised by Andy99.

I would be more than happy to assist in answering your question if you can please provide us the specific details of what it is you wish to do; how you wish to do it, with what; & from where?

Please tell us how you are accessing your Bell mobility voicemail? How do you want to retrieve your messages? Mobile device? Landline?

Have you completed the setup instructions & selected the options for your Bell Mobility Message Centre mailbox?

To access your mailbox please select one of these methods:

Dialling directly from your mobile phone:

Press and hold the 1 key.
If prompted, enter your 10-digit mobile phone number.
If prompted, enter your voicemail password.
You’ll hear menu options and prompts to help you use Message Centre.

All of these steps can be programmed and setup to be completed automatically in your mobile device "Phone settings". Please refer to your mobile supplier's manual for setup instructions. Depending on the device you are using to access your Bell Mobility Message Centre Voicemail box, you can program your mobile device to dial & enter your login password, etc.

Dialling from a landline or someone else’s phone:

Dial your 10-digit mobile phone number.
While the voicemail greeting is playing, press # to hear the password prompt.
Enter your voicemail password.
You’ll hear menu options and prompts to help you use Message Centre.

Depending on the make & model of your home phone, you can program your home phone to autodial your Bell Mobility Message Centre mailbox.

How to use Message Centre voicemail : What is Message Centre?

There is no need for you to enter your name each time you retrieve your messages. There is a requirement to enter your password. This can be completed automatically within your mobile device and home phone settings. Please refer to the appropriate manual.
