To be clear let’s say there are two bell customers. One has a 100 GB data plan for CAN/US/MEX who is in the U.S. traveling for business with a 416 area code. . The other person is in Canada with a Canada only data plan also has a 416 area code number. Will the person who is physically in Canada with the Canada only data plan be charged for texting the other person when they are in the States?

Good Day…. Welcome to the Belll Community Forum.

Is this a trick question? It has no bearing on where you are at! Billing charges for them are based upon where they are at, their supplier, their plan, their usage time, called or text location, etc.

Will they be charged for sending or receiving a text? Yes & no! Tell me more & I can give you a more definitive answer.

If they are using data & their plan does not include unlimited data, texting, etc. then yes.

Are they with Bell Mobility? If so which plan do they have, what add-ons do they have, & what are is included in their plan & agreement?

Thank you for contacting the Bell Community Forum.

Take care.

Without knowing what the other Bell Mobility customer's plan includes, the following should answer your question:

If their Bell plan includes unlimited Canada wide calling & texting, then they can call & text any other Canadian number. They would pay their regular rates no matter where you are at or where they are calling from in Canada. In your case, you mentioned that you have a Bell CAN/US/MEX plan which will cover you.

Text messages

If you send or receive a text message anywhere in Canada, you pay your regular rates, regardless of whether you are inside or outside your local calling area. This applies to text messaging included in your mobile rate plan, and text messaging included in any features you have added to your plan.

Data

You pay your regular rates for data and Mobile Browser usage anywhere in Canada, regardless of whether you are inside or outside your local calling area. This applies to data usage included in your mobile rate plan and to data usage included in any features you have added to your plan.

Hopefully I have been of assistance.

Take care.
