Thanks for the follow-up. It appears this was a one of occurrence, the only problem I have had is incoming calls dropping mid-conversation. Because of the poor signal in my home I am using Wi-fi calling and assume the issue is caused by the switching from Mobile tower to wi-fi because of the dead zone . Annoying but livable.

Yesterday morning my messages were fine - sent quickly and properly. Then half way through the day it changes - SMS messages specifically (MMS texts didn't seem to have this problem) - it would take a long time to send, and the recipient would receive it 3-4 times. I did a full factory reset on my phone but it didn't help at all.

Hi there @Mare, and welcome to the Community.

We wanted to check in and see if you were still having issues with your text messages. If so, could you share some more info?

Do you see any trend in the people that you're having issues messaging? Are they with different providers, or in different areas?

Are you using Google Messages or iMessage, or a third party app (WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, etc)?

Are you seeing a significant drop in the amount of bars you have for reception? Dropping from 4 or 5 bars to 1 or 0, for example.

You mentioned your MMS messages appear to be sending fine. Is your data connection overall and calls unaffected?

We'd also recommend taking a look at our support page on Troubleshooting text, picture and media messaging for more tips.

Looking forwarding to hearing back from you.

A good option is to restart the phone times to times, I got plenty of costumers saying that they haven't ever restarted the phone or dared to turn it off in a 5 months timeframe, and most of the time, touch, sms or navigation through the phone is a repetitive problem they have.

Hi, I need some perspective here. It seems only the messages between my husband and I are getting delayed and only when he’s downtown Toronto. It doesn’t matter if I’m with him or not they still get delayed. Apparently today they were delayed for over two hours. I’m actually not believing him but I am still posting here to find out if anyone else has had this problem to give him the benifit of doubt also for a good 12 hours last week Saturday when he was in the same place not one of my texts going to him or anything on his phone or my phone or between the kids and him actually showed up on the itemized bill can you please someone tell me if I’m being duped here or if this is actually a problem that happens but I hate to think there’s something nefarious going on on his part as my husband doesn’t have a good track record. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and trust him but he doesn’t seem to want to prove that the problem is A system problem.

Can this be happening if he’s been forwarding to another phone card or something? I just have a hard time believing that two solid hours of no texts going through is a thing in a major metropolis. My husband is working down at Saint Lawrence market on Saturday and it seems to be the only time we have a problem. Mu messages to other people downtown or where I am in rural area are going through normally.

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

As the Community is a peer to peer assistance channel, it would be hard to determine the cause of the delayed texts. However, it could happen due to different scenarios.

In order for the Community to help wherever we can, some extra details will be needed;

Have you tried sending a text message to another Bell Mobility customer to see if the same issue occurs?

Are other services (phone calls or mobile data usage) affected when visiting the location?

Has the issue occurred at any other locations?

Are your phones updated to their latest OS/IOS versions?

What is the network selection in the network settings of your phones (4G/LTE/5G/5G+)?

Have you tried to simply restart your phones, as many times a fresh connection to the network is all your phone needs?

Have you contacted our technical support team to verify your concern and open a ticket if needed?

Is anyone from Alberta having a delay in sending text messages to another Bell customer?

My husband and I are long time customers, recently we have noticed that there is a delay when sending text messages to each other. If we send messages to other carrier customers there is no delay and works normally. Sometimes the delay will show in the body of the text as a 2 minute delay even if it was sent immediately after receiving the first text. My husband does travel to rural areas but, this happens even when we are in the city limits of Edmonton.

Our phones are the Galaxy 10 series, which we bought new, so I am hopping that the 5G switch over is the not the problem and we need to upgrade again.

SMS not sending reliably

Since switching to Bell, SMS' have never sent reliably. Messages will be in a state of 'sending" for some time then fail. Resending them does not help as the recipient gets multiple copies of the same message.

I've restarted my phone, reset network connection multiple times, factory reset my phone, and switched to using the default texting app. I have 4 bars of service basically anywhere I go. Phone is S20 FE 5G, so nothing ancient.

Any suggestions would be great!

I can only offer the following ideas for your consideration.

Have you contacted OnePlus Canada support? Their web site has very limited information & support on their products. Support - OnePlus (Canada)

You mentioned doing a reset?
