I was previously with Teksavvy VOIP and I would get an email with an mp3 attachment of phone messages left in my phone mailbox and I could block numbers.

is a similar online service available from Bell?

There is nothing per se as you are describing related to Bell Home service. There is a similar service available if you have Bell Mobility service.

There is a free feature called: Voicemail via MMS

Voicemail via MMS is a feature that allows you to receive your voicemails as audio files via MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service). Instead of calling into your mailbox, you can play the audio file directly from your messages to hear a voicemail. You can also keep the audio files for as long as you would like, as they will remain in your text conversations until you delete them.

Here is a link that explains this service:

https://support.bell.ca/mobility/rate_plans_features/voicemail_via_mms

Bell Changing Call Answer to E-Mail Notification

This past week I received an e-mail from Bell saying that on November 30 there will be changes to Call Answer or Bell voicemail.

We’re upgrading our voicemail system to improve performance, enhance security and introduce new features and functionalities.

Once the upgrade is complete, you’ll have access to new features through the Voicemail manager tool in MyBell. This includes a new voicemail to email feature that will send your voicemail messages straight to your email inbox as an attached audio file.

I am wondering about this. I have received numerous scammer e-mails which include a voicemail message to click on and which can hijack or lock up your system. Does Bell have a plan to differentiate legitimate voice message e-mails from scammer e-mails? How are consumers to stay one step ahead of the bad actors if this change is happening? Yes, I have trad the relevant topic on the Bell Support site. It says the same thing. Thoughts?

Hey @dks,

Great question.

An example of a received email utilizing the Voicemail to Email service will include these specifics:

A customer first must sign up and provide their email address to initiate the service – no emails would be sent unless they have signed up and then received a voicemail message to their Home phone. If you have not registered for this service, you will not receive the email or text voicemail.

The voicemail message attachment is always an attached mp3 file; never a link.

The From field will be the phone number that left the voicemail message @Bell.ca or @bellaliant.ca (XXX-XXX-XXXX@bell.ca)

The email will be branded Bell (or Bell Aliant)

The below screen shot and email will include a “This email was sent to EMAIL_ADDRESS@Emailprovider.ca”

I just recently got the home phone choice package after moving to Bell from Teksavvy. At Teksavvy, I had the feature to send voice messages to my email. I want to do the same.

I found an article on Bell Support entitled "How to use Call Answer (voicemail) on my Bell Home phone". Under the heading getting voice mail by email, it says to click Access Voicemail Manager. I can't find a Access Voicemail Manager. I do see a "Call Answer Message Manager, but its doesn't have a clickable link.

Can anyone advise on what I am missing so I can set up voicemail (call answers) to go to my email box.

Thanks
