topic Cannot dial out with Rotary phone since switching to Fibe in Home phone

I have a couple rotary 500 phones in my home. Since I switched to Fibe I can only answer them, not dial out. When I try to dial out I only get a message in french, which I don't understand since I don't speak french. Is there any way of fixing this? Is there a setting in the modem to allow me to use my analog rotary phones?

Unfortunately no. There is no setting in the modem.

Most older analogue dial pulse equipment have difficulties communication with the newer technology. You will probably be able to receive calls. Dialing out as you mentioned can be an issue. There are many other wireless phones alternatives (such as Panasonic, Vtech, etc.), that are reasonably priced. These can be purchased in store or online at locations such as The Source, Amazon, Best Buy, etc.

Thanks for the reply, not quite the answer I was hoping for. I'll look for a work around. I have been told there are products that will work the rotary phones on a digital fibe lines. Thanks again

@WelshTerrier is correct. You can receive calls only on a Model 500 rotary dial phone. You can't make outgoing calls because the analogue technology does not work with fibre. There are devices called an ATA or an Analog Telephone Adapter which change the analogue phone signals to digital and something compatible with fibre, but they are not cheap and do not always work. Read the reviews on Amazon.
