There is no reason why you can not keep both services, Bell Fibe TV & Shaw Direct satellite. Each provider will have a separate hookup & receiver for television viewing.

Take care.

We currently have a landline and a satellite receiver that is connected to the internet through the landline. If we change our internet to fibe internet, we loose the copper wire landline-internet connection. Can the satellite receiver connect with the fibe internet? Only interest is to be able to connect the satellite receiver. We want to continue with satellite tv and are not interested in fibe tv.

There should be no issue. Your Bell internet connection sees the Shaw receiver as just another piece of hardware connected to the modem. Just connect the phone line to a phone jack.

So, if I'm understanding the technology, when they install the Fibe Box, it will be both my internet and phone. Telephones that I have connected to the current phone jack will still work but with a different technology. Have I got it right?

That is correct. It will work just like an old copper wireline telephone. Depending on the receiver, there may also be an option to connect wirelessly. Check with your provider's support web site for more information if this is of interest to you. Bell doesn't support customer equipment beyond the Fibre modem.

Bell is both the ISP and the satellite provider. Lack of information from Bell is the issue. As a customer, I'm having to figure it out myself. Bell support isn't much help. Each time I try to obtain more information, I have to start at the beginning. I think I'll try to connect with tech support who may be able to confirm the hands on details. Thanks for this,

This is from Bell website Quote: Using fibre optic technology, Bell Fibe TV brings the best TV experience right to your door – no dish required. The Bell Fibe TV app lets you access live TV and on-demand television

I am assuming when you say satellite you mean fibe TV, not satellite because satellite isn't landline. But the easiest is just chat online with Bell to confirm what i found above.
