Hi, While trying to set up my new Samsung tv with Bell Fibe TV it will not connect to the wifi. It keeps asking for a Bell security number which I don't have. I have tried to enter the admin numbers on the plastic card they gave me but it won't accept it. The Bell cord to my Bell box is attached to the tv. I set it up exactly as I did with my previous Samsung tv but it keeps saying during the set up no access to the network.

Can someone tell me what to do?

Thanks!

Thank you for your question. I suggest you check the TV manual first to see if there are any directions on wi-fi sign up. You may also find a physical network cable to be better than wireless.

If you're just trying to connect WiFi, then a "Bell security number" is a weird thing for it to be asking. Your TV doesn't know your internet provider. It may be a strange wording that it presents when asking for the WiFi password. I have seen some systems that refer to that as a security key, and it you are just using the default WiFi ID like BELL495 or whatever then it may say it like that, referencing your WiFi network id, rather than 'Bell' the company.

The setup is really no different than allowing access to your network for any wifi-enabled device.

During its wifi setup, your Samsung should show you a few wifi network names (SSIDs), but the only one you need is the one associated with your modem (HomeHub 4000 or Giga Hub).

The card you were given should show the "Wi-fi network name" --> Bell123 (or whatever yours is), and the "Wi-Fi password (WPA2)". That is the default password.

So choose the "network name" (that's the SSID) and use the password as shown on the card. (you can change it later, if you want to).

Your Samsung should now have wifi access.

Let us know if you got it working.

Good Day.

Please provide me with further details. Which Bell receiver do you have? Which modem? I have 2 recent model Samsung TV's & and an HP Laptop. Do you have your MyBell Login User name & password? Do you have your Bell Wi-Fi network name & password? You will need this information in order to proceed with Fibe TV & Internet setup.

You mentioned connecting Fibe TV to a Samsung TV. Samsung TV does not support the Bell Fibe app if you are planning on using it. You can set up a wired or wireless connection to your Samsung TV. This can be completed very easily by following the instructions in the Samsung Connection Manager. From there you can set up your Network, Devices, etc.

If you wish to watch Fibe TV on your Samsung you will need to add a receiver or a Smart device plugged in to an HDMI port. E.g. Streamer, Chromcast, Apple TV Fire TV, etc. Once again your Samsung SmartThings will recognize set up yor receiver with your input.

To use your HP Laptop, you will need to use your MyBell and / or account credentials to stream Fibe TV on a web browser. Depending on your setup, you will your wireless network details, etc.

Let me know if I can provide further assistance.

Take care.
