We have the 4000 Hub and 1.5 Giga service. TV comes back on after turning off set using remote . About 50 % of the time. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times attempts to turn off. Have replaced the remote control unit and also the receiver. Problem since install.

This a Bluetooth remote. When you installed the VIP7802, did you install it using the LG Smart TV set up Input Device Manager? Eg. LG - Using SIMPLINK. If so, did you do the same when you removed the the receiver & remote?

If unsure, may I suggest that you unplug the VIP7802 & the sound bar from the TV & then set them up once again using the built in LG - SIMPLINK Input Manager. (Please reference the LG User manual.)

Hello All,

I like to post an update on my issue and solution I was able to resolve which may help others who faced similar problem.

Solution:

First I power off everything. (TV, AV Receiver and FibeTV receiver box).

Removed and disconnected HDMI cable on TV ARC input. This cable coming from AV Receiver ARC Output

Connected Bell FibeTV Receiver directly on TV HDMI ARC input and then power ON only TV and Bell FibeTV receiver. Re run Remote setup and making sure that I can control volume of my TV with Bell Bluetooth remote.

After everything tested Okay. I power OFF everything and disconnect HDMI connection going from Bell receiver to the TV HDMI ARC input

Re-connect HDMI ARC cable coming from my AV Receiver to the TV HDMI ARC Input.

Re-connect Bell receiver to my AV Receiver using HDMI cable on available HDMI Input port on my AV Receiver (in my case I have connected Bell receiver HDMI cable in to GAME HDMI Input on my AV Receiver)

Power ON all devices and test if I can turn off my TV and AV Receiver with Bell Bluetooth remote, All are working as expected.

Thank you all for all the help and support.

ASP

Didn't work for me.

Home Hub 3000, VIP7802 STB, voice remote.

Sony A80J TV, Sony STR-AN1000 Receiver.
Saw a support article about advanced settings, HDMI CEC for some Bell STB, but my settings , device menu has no "advanced" section.

Sure I can disable HDMI CEC and turn on and off 3 devices individually but that is a tiresome throwback to analog control. VIP7802 must have an HDMI CEC setting somewhere?

AV Receiver will not shut off with VIP7802 Connected. HDMI CEC Problem.

Similar to TV turns back on post, tried that solution to no avail.

Home Hub 3000, VIP7802 STB, voice remote. Sony A80J TV, Sony STRAN-1000 receiver.

Other device, ie. Apple TV works fine. Powers up and down TV and receiver with no difficulty.

VIP7802 powers up TV and Receiver but upon power off, using slim remote, receiver turns on again immediately. VIP7802 and TV are off, STR-AN 1000 will not power off, using its own remote. Goes off and back on immediately.

Disabling HDMI CEC in receiver results in loss of automatic input switching on power on and need to manually power off. Turning off CEC in TV alone leaves receiver unable to power off. Turning off CEC in both TV and receiver means turning on/off each device individually.

Reminds me of the old days before hdmi when I used a programmable remote to send individual signals to each device. Any way to disable HDMI CEC in VIP7802 ?

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have an AV receiver that is not Sony with this config? Could be Sony oddity as well though the VIP7802 is the only device to have the problem. AppleTV and Rogers streamer STB are OK.

Resolved. Similar process to "TV Comes Back On" resolution, difference being I left A/V receiver plugged into TV ARC and plugged VIP7802 into another 4K HDMI input on the TV while all was powered off. HDMI CEC was set on all devices. I was just hoping for a better outcome for other playback devices. That configuration was not better. Turned everything off, plugged VIP7802 back into A/V receiver, left HDMI CEC on, powered all back up and all works as expected. It's a mystery to me.

Now I haven't powered on the Blu-Ray player in ages, shudder to think what will happen. An adventure for another day.

Ever since Bell upgraded the software in my Bell Fibe TV Android box, when I press the power button to power off the device and my TV, the TV clicks off and then clicks back on again. Before the recent Android box software upgrade, when I pressed power off, the TV went off and stayed off. Now it will power itself back on, forcing me to press the power button again. Sometimes it (the TV) goes off after the second power button press, but sometimes the cycle repeats three or even four times, before the TV stays off. I've replaced the remote batteries and also reset the remote to factory settings and then set it up again from scratch. My remote firmware version is 6.3.99, for what it's worth.

Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone have a working solution to the problem?
