SD and HD Channel Confusion

I have the Bell Starter TV Package with a few add-ons.

When I look at My Channel line-up in the app I see channels like

ABC

221,1221

and

AMI-tv & HD

But the AMI-tv shows HD in the name but not 1048 like ABC shows 1221.

Any idea why?

And the bigger question is, is there really any difference between 48 and 1048 in picture quality? If 48 really SD and 1048 HD?

AMI-tv is a television channel that is broadcast nationally in English in the Eastern time zone. Bell - 48.

It is not available on Bell -1048 in the Starter package. Bell - 1048 is available on other Fibe packages

SD is older and lower-resolution, while HD is newer and higher-resolution. Depending on the device you're using and your internet speed, SD videos are much more likely to appear grainy, blurry,

AMI-tv broadcasts a selection of general entertainment programming with accommodations for those who are visually or hearing impaired with audio descriptions on the primary audio track and closed captioning available across all programming.

AMI-tv is licensed by the CRTC as a discretionary “must carry” service. It must be carried on the lowest level of service by all licensed digital cable, satellite and IPTV providers in Canada.

Thanks. I find the guide on the Android box confusing to use and not well implemented.

If you set a favourites list and are using it but then enter a channel outside the list it reverts to All Channels.

Entering 4 digits for HD channels is annoying.

It would be nice to see a channel list instead of the guide on the Android box like you can in the Fibe App.

@Jazzeyman I have included the following web link that will be of assistance to you. There are numerous tutorials included in this document that will be of assistance to you. I have only included one of them in this reply that pertains to your question.

If you wish to remove channels that you do not wish to have included in your All Channels Guide, you will need to customize the guide. With the exception of VOD, etc. you can pretty well eliminate just about everything you do not want included in the All channels guide by de-selecting the channels & saving the changes.

Have you looked at customizing the Guide? Open the web link provided. Select > Watching shows with Fibe TV Voice remote. Select > Customizing the channel guide. This will open another subsection. Select > Customizing the channel guide. Follow the instructions. (I have included them as well.)

Press the Home button on your Fibe TV Voice Remote and select Settings.
Select Device, then Menu and guide or My preferences.
Scroll to and select Customize guide or Guide filters.
Scroll to and select any channels you want to add or remove from your channel guide.
- If the checkbox is checked, the channel will appear in the guide.
- If you want all channels to appear, select Check all or select all channel types manually.
When you're finished with your changes, scroll to and select Save.

To view your channel guide, press guide on your remote.
