Unable to turn on TV with remote until I unplug the TV

When the TV is off for a considerable time the remote doesn't turn the tv on anymore...I have to unplug the tv and then the remote works again. Not sure why this is happening

Note:

When I try turning the tv on ( before unplugging the tv and plugging it back in ) pressing the power button the tv makes a clicking noise like it wants to come on but the screen stays black...after I unplug the tv and plug it back in it works for the rest of the night....I have to do this almost everyday.

What Bell TV remote are you using, and which type of TV set do you have? Does this happen when you use the TV sets remote to turn the TV on as well?

We recommend that you try pairing your Bell TV remote to the TV again. Check out this Community thread where you can find more information: How to program remote to work with TV?

Hello … I have the bell fine Google assistant remote .. it’s 2 months old … and I have a relatively new Samsung smart tv . When the bell remote fails so does the Samsung tv remote … I unplug the tv and plug it back in and everything works again …

I will reprogram my remote and see how it goes .. thank you

Good Day.

Try to reprogram your remote until you obtain an exact match that also controls volume & power.

When you program your Bell remote to your Samsung TV, it does a volume up & down check. If this works on first attempt, this may not be the correct code match for your Samsung TV model & remote control.

Samsung has more than one model of TV, remote control, & remote code for pairing. In my case, the first code I paired only controlled the volume, but not the TV power on / off. On my third attempt, I was able to pair my remote to Samsung using another Samsung code that matched my equipement.
