Has that changed recently because I didn’t have to that before. Not everyone is coming in the RV, some will be at home and everyone would like to watch TV. I have 4 receivers in total that I pay for. I am not trying to cheat the system so this seems very unresonable.

We have a second receiver at our cottage but because it is a seasonal residence and not used all winter, BELL turns off the signal. WHY ? We pay for all year so why do you feel you can turn off my signal just because it's not being used. It is not easy getting it turned back on as we sometimes wait on the phone line for up to one hour only to be told it will be reinstated.

Thank you for your question. I also have a second satellite receiver on a separate account at my cottage. I suspend the service every November for six months ( the maximum)and the bill is reduced. It comes back automatically on May 1. I remove the receiver from the cottage, as well. A phone line connection is not required for the receiver. You can reactivate your receiver using the MyBell app on your cell phone if necessary. It has been easy from my end. To the best of my experience, Bell does not suspend your receiver themselves. You have to ask for the suspension. The rules are different if you have two receivers in two locations but on the same account.

I am trying to move one of our receivers from our house to an RV that is 30 feet from our house and can not get connected again. It is hooked up to a separate dish that we use while camping. I have tried 2 different receivers and have had no success. We have done this in the past with no problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, I saw this yesterday so I phoned Bell and spoke to a lady from support who said I should be able to put a receiver in the RV, for the 5 days we will be gone, with know problem. She zapped the receiver thinking that might solve the problem but it didn’t. How does anybody know if I moved it out to the driveway. What happens if I move it to another room in the house.

Good Day.

This is a community forum, a peer-to-peer site web site. As such, we do not decide on what is reasonable or unreasonable in terms of policy & what you can or can not do with your Bell Satellite TV service.

This is not a new policy. If you wish, you can reconfirm this on https://www.bell.ca or by contacting Bell Customer Service Satellite TV at: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.

Yes, you can move your receiver to another room in your home. I do not see any reason why it would not work there. You would simply need to relocate or replace the existing wiring.

Thank you for posting your question.

Take care.
