I don't know what the model is as I can't find a model number/name on the remote. Receiver model is: VIP7802. Remote is the slimline with Google assist that comes bundled with Fibe. I have 3 remotes and have had for about 4-5 months. Only this one remote has a problem. The other two are working fine.

The batteries in the Bluetooth remote should last for a considerable period of time. I have the same remote & it is used quite frequently. The batteries are well over a year old. I can offer up the following suggestions:

How old is your remote? Is it in good working order?

Any damage on it? Do the buttons stick?

Have you checked the the battery area for leakage? (white powder at either end of battery contacts.

Have you wiped down the the remote used a que tip with alcohol along the buttons & battery area?

Are you using a quality alkaline battery? E.g. Duracell, etc.

When not in use, where is it stored & where do you find it? Seat cushions, under pillows, blankets, pant leg, etc.

When not in use, batteries will deplete if buttons are pushed or stuck on the remote.

If after reviewing all of the above & everything appears copacetic, then I would order a replacement remote from Bell. The Voice remote is the remote that is for the VIP7802. Please note all remotes have a 1 year warranty. If your remote is less than a year old you will not need to purchase one for $30.00, as a replacement remote would be free.

Good Day.

There are any number of factors that affect the drainage of a remote control. How old are the remotes controls?

Check the battery storage area ensuring it is clean & there is no dried out battery leakage.

Cup your hand over the led light on the remote control remote & see if the led lamp is dimly lit.

Any damage on it? Do the buttons stick?

Was there any liquid spillage on or near the remote control? This can short out the contacts & pad in the remote control.

Have you tried to wipe down the remote using a que tip with alcohol along the buttons & battery area?

Are you using recently purchased quality alkaline battery? E.g. Duracell, etc.

There could be a short between two solder points inside of the remote control.

When not in use, where are the remotes stored & where do you usually find the remotes? Seat cushions, under pillows, blankets, pant leg, etc.

When not in use, batteries will deplete if buttons are pushed or stuck on the remote.

If you are unable to determine the source of the problem, you can order a replacement remote control for the 9400 PVR online at the following link:

Bell Satellite TV - Equipment - Remotes

Remotes - Satellite TV | Bell Canada

Please refer to the 9400 PVR model number on your device to select the compatible remote control that meets your needs. A refurbished remote control for your device is: @$30.00 + Tax. You can also contact Bell Satellite TV to order a replacement remote control: 1 888 759-3474

Take care.

I started having this issue following the last update that was pushed by Bell. I just replaced the original batteries that came with the remote and now I have chewed 3 sets of Duracell batteries in about 2 weeks. I have a battery tester so I know they went into the remote at full power and were drained when removed. The remote is clean, with no buttons stuck. The battery area is clean with no obvious dirt or damage. Could something in the update be the cause?

Good Day & Welcome

Which remote control are you experiencing an issue with? E.g. Bluetooth slim remote, Voice Remote with Google Assistant, etc.

Depending on the model of your remote control, you may be able to check the battery level by selecting Menu on your remote. Select > Settings > Remote control

The batteries in a Bluetooth remote should generally last for a considerable period of time. Battery life is dependent upon the usage of the remote & the quality of the batteries that you are using. For example, the batteries in my 4 Bell remotes are well over a year old.

I can offer up to you the following suggestions:

How old is your remote? Is it in good working order?

Any damage on it? Do the buttons stick?

Have you checked the battery area for leakage? (White powder at either end of battery contacts.

Have you wiped down the remote using a Q-tip with alcohol along the buttons & battery area?

Are you using a quality alkaline battery?
