If I keep my current Fibe TV service with one receiver, return the other 2 receivers, it seems like I can use the Fibe TV app on other devices with PVR functionality. What do you think of that? Unless Bell does something to block the app. This would saves me $20/month.

I have a Fibe TV subscription, 3 7802 receivers and I pay for Fibe Cloud and on some other devices I use Fibe TV app to watch live and recorded shows.

Does anyone know, can I keep paying for Fibe TV subscription and Fibe Cloud, but get rid of the 3 7802 receivers and still access live and recorded shows and set up recordings from the Fibe TV app?

Good Day & Welcome.

Yes, you can return your television equipment and just pay for the programming. You would need to switch from Bell Fibe TV service to Bell Fibe TV app service.

It requires an eligible Bell Internet plan and a compatible device (Samsung (2018 and newer), LG (2018 and newer), Roku, TCL and Hisense/Sony TV models, Bell Streamer, Google TVTM, Apple TV (4th gen. or higher), Amazon Fire TV (Basic Edition (2ndGen) or higher), or Roku Streaming Stick). Recordings are available for a maximum 60 days.

If you wish to make this change, you will need to contact Bell Customer Service Fibe TV: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.

Take care.

Hey @WelshTerrier, appreciate the response. I'm preferring the wifi connectivity of the bell app on TV or other devices versus the 7802. That's a priority, for whatever reason 7802 has been a pain, and I'm not going to hardwire my house to mitigate the 7802 hardware issues. Tired of reboots and many times laggy performance. And I get to deal with all that and the privilege of paying $10/month per receiver. Just peeved I need to keep one receiver just to to keep PVR cloud that I also pay monthly for. Anyway, 2 of the 3 7802s are packed up for Purolator pickup Monday. 👍

Hi all, I'll be contacting Bell soon but thought I'd check here. A few months back I returned 2 of the 3 VIP7802 receivers which saved rental costs and kept one b/c at the time it was my understanding you needed one receiver to be able to keep the Fibe Cloud PVR feature. I installed the Bell Fibe TV app on the 2 TVs that used to have the receiver and am very happy with the results. Now I see that Bell is offering "no hardware Fibe TV with Cloud PVR", so now I'd like to return the last VIP7802 receiver but want to keep the Fibe Cloud PVR feature using the Bell Fibe TV app on all my TVs. Wondering if anyone has made this change with Bell successfully. Thx
