Fibe TV with Receiver Delay - World Cup 2026

Hi everyone,

I live in Oakville and would like to purchase a subscription to watch the World Cup live. The only worry I have is the delay we usually get from IPTV services. Bell Fibe TV with receiver guaranteed 5-7 seconds of delay, does anybody have similar experience? I would like your feedback on the delay part, specifically when it comes to watching sports using cable.

Thanks for your question. It is very hard to offer a precise answer. Some sources suggest there can be a delay of 30 to 60 seconds. My own experience of radio stations over the internet suggest a delay of a minute. It is the nature of the service and not something which can be fixed,

Bell Fibe TV has a live delay. It typically can run 15 to 30 seconds behind traditional over-the-air broadcasts. Because it is an IPTV (internet-based) service that requires the video signal to be transcoded and buffered, it can extend beyond this due to technical difficulties.

When viewing a live event, such as an NFL football game, there is a slight broadcast delay because the video must go through several stages of transcoding, packaging, and playing.

Fibe TV is well within industry average.

As it is with everything in life these days, TV viewing & technology is continually changing.
I can only suggest to you that you stay tuned.

Unfortunately, there is little that can be done to change this at this time.
