Hey there @User1957

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell community.

We are sorry to hear that the proposed solution did not resolve your TV buffering. Buffering is usually caused by either Wi‑Fi strength or the set‑top box connection, not the modem itself. Does this impact multiple receivers in your home, or just one in particular?

Can you share what Internet package you subscribe to, as well as which modem and TV receiver you are using?

How is your equipment connected (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet)? If your receiver is connected via Wi-Fi, can you test with a direct Ethernet connection to see if that improves the TV quality?

We hope to hear back from you soon,

It is so frustrating trying to watch a program when it buffers every 10 seconds Bell advertises Fibe tv but I was told I am too far away from their switch box to get it. They downgraded me to the minimum available Bell 50. Says that's the fastest I can get. Cogeco is at my door every month and I am trying to be loyal, but it is getting.more and more difficult. The worst part is, my neighbour 6 houses away has the Bell fibe and upgraded speed.

Bell just doesnt seem to care. It js very frustrating

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your question.

Yes, it can be very frustrating when you try to watch TV, and the picture repeatedly buffers. Please have a look at these troubleshooting suggestions to see if they make a difference.

If possible, are you able to bypass Wi-Fi entirely and connect your Bell Fibe TV box and or streaming device directly into your modem using an Ethernet Cable?

When watching TV, are you or anyone else in your home accessing your Wi-Fi internet connection? Gaming, downloading or viewing videos, etc.

If your using a Smart TV or similar input input streaming device such as a Firestick, have you rebooted then by unplugging them from their power source for 30 seconds to see if this makes a difference.

Are you using a Bell receiver to watch Fibe TV? If so, which model of receiver do you have. Have you tried to reboot this receiver as well?

Please check that your receiver or input device signal is not being indirectly blocked from communicating with your modem. You may need to reposition or adjust your TV & receiver in order to obtain a stronger signal.

Depending on the device you are using to watch Fibe TV, you may need to clear the cache for the Fibe TV app on the device you are using.

Please check put this weblink for further ideas & suggestions: Fibe TV Troubleshooting - Virtual repair Tool

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Take care.

Thank you for getting back to the Bell community.

Are you able to clarify the make/model of the receiver you currently have? Is it a small box or is there any model number on the front?

You mention 'tv was built-in to take advantage of wireless'. Can you provide us with a bit more context around that? For example, is the Bell receiver located in an enclosed space?

We are looking forward to your reply.

Interesting that Bells proposed solution was the modem?

We have Fibe 50 and the new modem is a Hub 3000. Receivers are VIP HD PVR and the other is a wireless HD receiver.

Connected via WIFI and no we can't connect via ethernet.

Hey there @User1957

Thanks for the details 🙂

Since the Home Hub 3000 has already been replaced and the buffering is still occurring, it sounds like the issue may be related to the wireless connection between the receiver and the modem.

We recommend that you use the Bell Wi-Fi app to review the wireless signal strength reported by the receiver. For more details and some additional troubleshooting options check out Ensure optimal home Wi-Fi connection with the Wi-Fi Checkup Tool

Another step you can take is to run Virtual repair when the issue occurs. Virtual repair can help detect and fix issues with your network.

A few additional questions to help us troubleshoot further:

Is the buffering happening on both receivers or only on the wireless HD receiver?

Does it occur on live TV, recordings, On Demand content, or all three?

Does it typically occur when more devices are being used at the same time?

Approximately how far is the wireless receiver from the modem, and are there many walls or floors between them?

Let us know how everything is going,

@BellPatricia
