I find the ability to only add 30 minutes to a scheduled recording ridiculous. So many sporting events go well beyond the scheduled time. Examples: World Cup football matches that go to extra time, Wimbledon matches that go beyond three sets, and golf tournaments that go to a playoff. I know I can program to record the show that's scheduled to follow, but that's an extra program that I have to record and subsequently delete. And sometimes if the following programs are only half an hour, I have to record multiple shows. So inconvenient! Rogers let me add up to two hours to any scheduled recording - much more convenient. Is there any way I can change the default recording settings to allow me to add more time to my recordings?

Thank you for your question. At this time the default time to add for recording on Fibe TV is 30 minutes. We have heard nothing about a change in that default.

Why does Bell limit the time you can extend a programme to 30 minutes? This is very inadequate, especially for sporting events. Yesterday I was watching the championship races in the St. John's Regatta and, OF COURSE, just as they started the recording stopped. I had added 30 minutes but this was not enough. Cogeco use to give us up to 3 hours.

Several times while watching Blue Jay recorded games, the recording stops in the ninth inning because the time has expired. This is very frustrating. I'm sure you do not end the live program so why can't you figure out a way to keep the recording going until the game actually ends.

Good Day @Streamer

Thank you for your reply. Yes, Restart is available without a receiver. It is available for both.

To use the Restart feature on Bell Fibe TV, you need an eligible TV package that includes the feature and a show that displays the Restart symbol.

Are you able to share which television service you subscribe to? Can you share which receiver or streaming device you are using?

Restart is currently available on Fibe TV and will allow you to restart some select content that previously aired within the last 30 hours. For further information, we'd recommend checking out our support article Fibe TV service upgrade FAQ under "How do I restart shows aired in the last 30 hours".

You can use Restart on supported mobile devices, tablets, and streaming sticks (like Amazon Fire TV or Apple TV).

You cannot use the Restart feature when running the Fibe TV app via a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer.

If you missed the start of a show, you can use the Restart feature to play it from the beginning, provided the channel you select supports it.

Bell Fibe TV's Restart feature lets you play a show currently in progress or one that has aired within the last 30 hours from the beginning.

Restart programs cannot be recorded. However, for shows in progress, you can go back to live TV and record the show from that point on.

Keep in mind, restart is not available on every channel or for all programs.

You cannot Restart a live show with the Fibe TV app on a Roku TV and on a computer. The Restart function is not available as an option or feature. You can pause and rewind live TV. You can watch, manage and download recordings, etc.

To watch a show on a streaming device, Smart TV, or mobile device, etc. from the previous day on an equipment less Bell Fibe TV setup (using the Fibe TV app ), you can:

Use your Cloud PVR recordings or

You can select the TV show or movie using the Fibe TV On Demand feature. To access on demand content, using the Fibe TV app, choose Shows or Movies from the Home screen.

The Bell Fibe TV On Demand service lets you stream movies, TV shows and other content, whenever you want that are included in your package.

Please note: Not every live channel provides a catch-up or on-demand library. Major networks such as: CTV, Global, Crave, etc., offer extensive on-demand programming, but smaller or specialized independent channels might not offer on-demand content.

In order to watch a channel on demand, you must subscribe to that channel. There is no extra charge to access a channel that is included in your package on demand.

Once you open the Fibe TV app or go to tv.bell.ca using Web, go to the Shows or Movies section. Select your desired title and or subcategory, e.g. Channels, Sports, Family & Kids, etc. You can choose to rent, play or add the title to your watch list.

I have included this support document that will demonstrate the use of the Fibe TV app On Demand catalogue.

How to browse the On Demand catalogue using the Fibe TV app

Please Go to helpful replies with the green checkmark ✔️ for further information.

Take care.

Glad to see Bell didn't remove this feature that is on Fibe TV receivers

Bell should give ALL the Bell TV(satellite/Fibe receiver/receiver-less) customers using the app a free app upgrade to allow restart and the 3 hour recording extension.

I'm sure that would help with customer retention ..instead of offering free bonus channels in the 3000's...my two cents

It can also be added to select Bell Internet packages with a subscription.

A subscription to the Fibe TV app requires unlimited Bell Internet with download speeds of at least 15 Mbps. For a better viewing experience, 25 Mbps or higher is recommended.

Yes, it would be nice to be able to extend a scheduled Cloud PVR recordings beyond its: 30-minutes max default time on the Bell Fibe TV app. Unfortunately, there is no method built into the app that will allow you to change the default recording settings to add more time to your recordings.

As a work around, if you wish to record a program that may extend beyond the 30-minute time limit, you can set the Fibe TV app to record whatever show is scheduled to air immediately thereafter.

Fibe_TV / Fibe-tv-app Help & support

What is the Fibe TV app and how do I use it?

Take care.
