Hi @RobLo,

Welcome to the Bell Community, and thank you for reaching out.

Can you please clarify which TV receiver model you have?

Our best recommendation at this time is to record the equivalent show on a non 4K channel instead to ensure you don't miss the content.

Have a nice day,

I have an 80" Samsung 1080p TV. When the blue jays are playing live, the bell box/receiver allows me to watch them (on channel 1395 (4K)) and the picture is noticeably better than on 1405 (which is a 1080p broadcast). But if I record the Jays on 1395 and then go to that channel the bell box says "cannot watch this channel because your tv is not a 4k tv". Even if the game is still on and you select either "start over" or "play" it wont let you. Any idea why?

Also, just an FYI, I just found out you cannot watch 4k channels on a Firestick 4k Max or Chromecast. Apparently 4k channels are "not supported on any App". GRRR

Cause you aren’t supposed to be able to watch 4K on 1080P tv in the first place.

Yeah that’s also a rule. And only TV has the best picture quality which is 3GB/h for 1080P, while others are capped at 2.1GB/h if you look at the settings, even if you visit the website with a top-notch gaming PC, unless when casting from phones and pads.

The channel works great when watching live TV. I am aware a 1080p TV won't display 4x the resolution just because it's getting a 4k signal. I'm saying the picture is noticeably better when watching content on the 4k channel. So back to the initial question, why can't I watch the same channel once it's been recorded or recording.

That is what we have had to resort to. Record on HD and if we are home for the game live, switch to 4K. Thank you Patricia for your advice.
