For the past 2 months Bell has been installing Fibre in our area. My question is this, I'm currently on Bell Satellite for TV and Bell Satellite Internet. Both function properly. What advantage would there be going to Fibre as I see a lot of complaints in regards to fibre in the Community Forum.

Picture Quality from Bell Satellite to Fibe TV

Hello,

I'm considering changing from satellite TV to Fibe TV after many years of holding out. I've searched through a lot of forums and posts and there seems to be a lot of complaints about the fibe TV picture quality. I obviously don't want a worse picture than satellite. Is the Fibe TV (not 4K), even with all the complaining and problems, still better in terms of picture quality than the satellite (via bell tv box)? I tried using the Fibe TV app as well just to compare, and it is not as clear as the satellite feed. I am assuming that if i get Fibe TV, the App will stream at a higher rate (currently set at 3gb/hr)?

The Fibe TV will be connected to an LG OLED 65" TV.
Any comments that can help guide my decision are appreciated.

Thanks, Michael

I can speak from experience only. I had Rogers Cable TV for years. I finally left them & chose to go to Bell Satellite TV. The difference in quality was amazing. Bell Satellite gave me an option to leave poor quality service, pixelling, picture breakup viewing & move up in to excellence.

My only problems with Bel Satellite TV over the years related more so do to weather, & the surrounding foliage & trees blocking my signal.

When Fibe TV arrived..... this was on copper. It once again gave me a choice.

The quality & reliability & signal moved us up from 2 stars with Rogers, 3 stars with Satellite to 4 stars with Fibe on copper. We were more than pleased & very happy with our service.

Eighteen months ago we moved & we had a choice between Bell & Rogers on fibre.

We chose Bell Fibe TV & Internet with Home phone on fibre. The picture, sound & clarity quality are amazing. We are not sorry.

At the same time, we upgraded our TVs to Samsung high end Smart 4K TVs & added a Sonos surround audio system to the main viewing tv. All I can say is "Wow". We now have a 5+ star experience!

Can I give Bell all of the credit? No! The quality & sound that you receive will also be in direct relation not only to the fibre signal you receive, but also to the station that is broadcasting the signal & the the equipment you are using to listen & view the program, movie, etc. that you are watching!

Fibre is not affected by noise or the elements or the weather. It reproduces & enhances the signal you receive. It provides you with a higher video & audio quality experience.

I do not work for Bell! These are my personal views & I am more that pleased with the quality & service that I am paying for & that I am receiving.

Faster Internet, more channel selections, better picture quality, 4K, larger storage and etc. For example, CNN International is available on Fibe only and didn’t suffer from low volume.

I have just switched to Bell Fibe TV from Shaw Satellite - this picture is not as good and all devices in home are at least 4K if not Ultra HDR

Makes sense. Picture quality on Bell 7802 is identical to 5662, which has 1tb storage for 320 hrs, while Shaw has 1 tb for “over 300h” after the HEVC upgrade for all customers. 5662 seems only support hevc for 4K, not HD like Shaw. Did you compare channels owned by Bell on both systems?
