topic Power outage impact on Homehub3000 connectivity to set-top box Arris VIP7802 in TV & Streaming

My 94 year old mother-in-law got Fibe TV a couple of days ago. I went down to her place (2-hour drive) to witness the installation. The technician indicated that the Homehub3000 and the VIP7802 set-top box require a manual pairing after a power outage. Is there anyway for this pairing to occur automatically? Just like what an Apple TV set-top box for example which automatically reconnects? My mother-in-law does not have the skill-set to perform the required steps to re-pair the Homehub3000 and the VIP7802 set-top box (requires a WPS button press-and-hold on the Homehub3000, followed by multiple steps on the TV's remote control). She can barely turn the TV on and off and select channels without messing things up or pushing the wrong buttons. Her eyesight is also not the best. Any help appreciated.

Good day @rcjcarr

Welcome to the Bell Community, and thank you for reaching out 🙂

Normally, your modem and TV equipment will still remain paired, even after a power outage.

You can acquire a back up battery for the Home Hub 3000, which will help keep the modem online for a few hours during a power outage.

For a bit more information check out this thread Battery power backup for home hub 3000
