Wireless receiver activation. Still registered with previous owner.

I recently purchased a 2502 wireless receiver and cannot activate it, as it appears to be still registered in the name of the previous owner. How do I fix this!

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
The previous owner would need to reach out to give permission to remove it from their account if it has been sold and they owned it. Rental equipment is non-transferable. If they owned the equipment and the account has been deactivated then our customer service may be able to activate it on your profile.

Thanks so much! It all worked out just fine. Bell customer service confirmed ownership and simply transferred the unit to my account!

Activating A Used Bell HD 6131 Receiver

My HD 6131 that I've had for long time no longer powers on. A friend gave me a 9241 and a 6131 that the previous owners of a house he bought left behind and he has no use for. There is no way to contact to the original owners of these two receivers who left them behind when they sold the house. When I try to activate one, it states that is it already activated by another account (something to that effect). Can these receivers which have been abandoned by their previous owners be activated and used?

Bell - Confirm that if I have a receiver from a previous owner who abandoned them, and that owner is no longer reachable, these receivers are useless and the only thing to do is recycle them.

Permission from the original owner must be obtained before the receivers can be transferred to/activated on another account.

You could call Bell & provide them with the specific details including the make, model, serial #'s, MAC address, etc.

This information will be on a sticker on the bottom of the receivers.

This would give you at least a starting point.

If someone owns them, then you need their permission to activate the receivers.. If they were lost, stolen or left behind & were being rented or being purchased rom Bell, then you would need to return them to Bell, or the original owner or provide proof of ownership before they can be activated & added to your service.
