Downloading Voicemails to a Computer? Is there a way?

DigitalJIve

A friend of mine has a series of personal voicemail messages she would like to keep, but they are filling up her mailbox. I was trying to find a way to download them to her computer. 'Online Voice Mail' used to be a feature but when I contacted Bell I found it can no longer be activated. 'Voicemail to E-mail' is available in other parts of the country but not Ontario. Is there any other way of of doing this, short of manually recording the message from a speakerphone? Thank you!

Hey there @DigitalJIve

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

Currently the only option would be as you and as @AlexS mentioned, to manually record the messages from a speakerphone.

I can only think of one way.....  there may be others that I am not aware about..

  1. Try saving save the message.
  2. Replay it back on the speakerphone setting of your answering machine / home phone.
  3. Record the message while it is being played back using another device such as a recorder or recording app on a smartphone.
  4. Transfer the voicemail recorded message file from the recording device  or smartphone to you PC.
  5. There are any number of ways to do this. It just depends on what device you recorded the text message.

Not a simple task..... but it can be done this way.

Take care.

Thanks... I'll be visiting this week to look at the phone. I'm hoping I can connect it to a recorder by cable rather than just recording from the speaker.

If she/he’s using a smartphone, there should be options to save in the voicemail or phone app.

We have a Bell Home Phone, with a current personalized greeting.

Unfortunately, the person who recorded the greeting is not around any longer. So we need to change the greeting ... but ... we want to record a copy of the current greeting, since it has great sentimental value.

I know the steps to go to the Greeting menu, and change it ... *98, followed by 4, 3, 1, 2 ... but there appears to be no option to listen to the current greeting.

There must be some way to do this?

Help!! 😀

How do I access and save landline phone voicemail messages to my PC?

Thanks. That is certainly a way. I have done that before. But I know have 30 messages! I'm also on chat with Bell who directed me to myonlinevoicemail which is what I was looking for. And of course, its not working!

Can I get audio files of my saved Bell Voicemail Messages before home phone transitions to fibre? Thank you.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Bell Home phone does not have a feature that will allow you to save your voicemail messages to audio files.

If need be, there are a number of devices on the market that will allow you to record & save your messages. Panasonic, Vtech, etc.

Thank you for posting your question.

Take care.
